BOYS SOCCER MEDINA 4FINDLAY 0MEDINA – State-ranked Medina lived up to the billing on Saturday when the Battling Bees beat Findlay 4-0 in a nonleague boys soccer matchup.Ranked No. 11 among Ohio's Division I schools, Medina improved its record to 6-2-1.David Roberts made 12 saves and Jacob Kinn had two in goal for the Trojans. Tyler Worthington led the defense with 12 steals and six intercepts.Findlay, 2-6-1, will be going up against another state-ranked team on Tuesday when the Trojans face No. 17 Perrysburg (6-1-1) in a Northern Lakes League contest in Perrysburg.JUNIOR VARSITY: Medina, 4-2. GIRLS SOCCER OLENTANGY 3FINDLAY 1COLUMBUS – Olentangy Liberty pulled away for a 3-1 girls soccer win over Findlay on Saturday.Findlay fell to 4-3-2 on the season heading into a meat-grinder of a schedule. The Trojans will host unbeaten Perrysburg (8-0-1) on Wednesday in a Northern Lake League match, and the following Monday will face another undefeated team, Anthony Wayne (8-0-2) in another NLL contest. SANDUSKY 0UPPER SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky had an 8-6 edge in shots on goal, but Shelby walked away with the win, beating the Rams 2-0.Ashley Montgomery and Maddie Miller scored goals for Shelby (5-3-2). Upper goalie Carly Boes made six saves for the Rams (4-6-1). ELIDA 5BLUFFTON 3BLUFFTON – Elida's Lexie Good scored four goals in leading the Bulldogs to a 5-3 girls soccer win over Bluffton at Steinmetz Field on Saturday.Willow Derstine gave Bluffton (5-6) an early 1-0 lead, but Elida (8-2) was on top 3-2 by halftime. Aubrey Burkholder and Ellie Bogart had Bluffton's other goals, with Mya McDougle getting an assist.Both keepers – Bluffton's Kynzie Ewing and Elida's Arwen Troyer – made six saves.JUNIOR VARSITY: Bluffton, 2-0.
