Danzy reaches milestone as state-ranked Leipsic sweeps Ada

LEIPSIC 3ADA 0LEIPSIC – Leipsic's Danaysia Danzy achieved another career milestone in leading the unbeaten and stated-ranked Vikings to a straight-set 25-7, 25-18, 25-10 win over Ada in Monday's Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball matchup.A senior outside hitter, Danzy pounded 18 kills. She also had eight digs to surpass 1,000 in that category. With over 1,400 career kills she is the first player in school history to surpass the 1,000 milestone in both areas.Kya Brandt (9 digs) added seven kills, Morgan Valdez had six and Sidney Apple (4 aces) had five. Karmyn Brough led the Vikings with 35 assists and Jaelynn Siefer had 10 digs and three aces.Now 6-0 in BVC matches, Leipsic, ranked No. 2 in the state's Division VII polls, improved to 14-0 heading into a pivotal stretch of road games. The Vikings are at Ottawa-Glandorf (10-4) today, at Elmwood for a BVC matchup on Wednesday, then travel to Liberty-Benton on Monday for what will likely be a showdown for sole possession of first place in the league standings.Téa Griffith led Ada (10-4, 2-4 BVC) with five kills, six digs and two blocks with Brook Andreasen (4 blocks) and Dailah Preston adding two kills each.
