Adams, Van Buren win sectional crowns

FOSTORIA – Van Buren's Addyson Adams was overall medalist and led the Black Knights to the team title as well in the Division II girls sectional golf tournament held Tuesday at the Fostoria Country Club.Adams fired a 77 to edge Ryan Dickman of Fremont St. Joseph by one stroke. Lauren Hibbard carded a 90, Jordan Patton a 91 and Peyton Griffin a 110 for Van Buren's 368 team total. Hopewell-Loudon (370) and Old Fort (383) posted the next best scores that also qualified then for the Division II girls district Monday at Sycamore Springs in Arlington.The top three individuals from non-advancing teams also qualified for the district, including Liberty-Benton's Emmalee VonLehmden. VonLehmden had the fourth best score on Tuesday, carding an 87 to finish behind Adams, Dickman and Margaretta's Ellyse Schaefer (86).Aubrey Cline shot an 88, Megan Boes an 89 and Mallory Rowe a 92 for Hopewell-Loudon.
