Springfield doubles up Findlay, 4-2

BOYS SOCCER SPRINGFIELD 4 FINDLAY 2 FINDLAY – Carson Firestine and Britton Elliott each found the back of the net for Findlay, but it wasn't enough in a 4-2 loss to Springfield. Adam Bascal had an assist for the Trojans, who slipped to 2-8-1. Findlay is 2-4-0 in the NLL. Findlay goalkeeper David Roberts saved 12 shots. Zion Ortiz made nine intercepts and five steals for Findlay, while Charlie Ernst had five intercepts and eight steals. L-B 9 VAN BUREN 0 FINDLAY – Liberty-Benton didn't even need a minute before getting on the scoreboard against Van Buren. Brody Thomas converted an Aiden Hatch assist seconds into regulation. Lightning then delayed the game and the Eagles offense. But it didn't stop it. Once the game resumed, Brody Thomas scored another goal off a Hatch assist, Jairo Colina scored two goals and had an assist, Hatch scored twice and added another assist as Liberty-Benton won, 9-0. Taden Troyer added a goal off an assist from Cooper Cox and Grady Latta added a goal off a Landon Mumma assist. Lucas Theiss added an assist for the Eagles. Kooper Leatherman made five saves in goal for L-B. ADA 2 U. SANDUSKY 1 UPPER SANDUSKY – Ada slipped to 7-7 on the season and to 2-2 in the NCOSA after falling 2-1 to Ada. Kevin Hoy had the Rams' lone goal, with Cooper Roof assisting. RIVERDALE 7 C-R 1 RAWSON – Cameron Snook scored three goals, Landon Elmwood scored twice and had two assists and Riverdale defeated Cory-Rawson 7-1 Thursday. Nathan Alge and Andrew Alge – who played in the sectional golf tournament earlier in the day – each had a goal for the Falcons. Blaine Roach added an assist for the Falcons, while Reydon Bishop made two saves in goal for Riverdale. Riverdale outshot the Hornets 15-2. The Falcons improved to 3-9. Defensively for the Falcons, Parker Goodrich had eight intercepts, while Braidyn Jones had seven. Snook and Elwood made five steals each. O-G 2 BLUFFTON 1 BLUFFTON – Ottawa-Glandorf's Adam Maag converted a tie-breaking goal in the 42nd minute, and the Titans won a weather-abbreviated 2-1 game at Bluffton Thursday. Repeated lightning strikes ended the contest with 37 minutes left in regulation. Carson Kimmel put Ottawa-Glandorf up 1-0 at the 15-minute mark, then Bluffton's Ashton Ungashick scored five minutes later. O-G improved to 2-9-3; the Pirates slipped to 3-8-3. U. SANDUSKY 3 ADA 2 UPPER SANDUSKY – Erica Ruhlen scored twice, assisted on teammate Shiloh Shasteen's goal, and led Upper Sandusky to a 3-2 win over Ada. Ruhlen's first goal came on a free kick; on her second, Lily Walton assisted. For the Bulldogs, Emily Shanks and Avary Acheson each found the back of the net. Upper Sandusky won despite being out-shot 22-11. Rams' goalkeeper Carly Boes made 11 saves; Ada goalkeeper Emily Gibson made four. BLUFFTON 4 DEL. JEFFERSON 0 DELPHOS – Keyrsten Kleman and Aubrey Burkholder scored a goal within the first 10 minutes of regulation, and Bluffton never looked back, shutting out Delphos Jefferson 4-0. Kleman's goal, coming in the second minute, was assisted by Mya McDougle. Burkholder's goal – which came in the eighth – was assisted by Blair Utendorf. The Pirates' Samantha Rueller converted a Phoebe Edwards-Leeper pass in the 58th minute, then Utendorf scored on a Burkholder assist in the 69th minute.
