Arcadia UM ARCADIA — Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at Arcadia United Methodist Church, followed by the main worship service at 10. The Rev. Gerry Hubbs will be speaking again from Paul's message to the Ephesians on "An Army of Sacrificial Servants." The scripture is from Ephesians chapter 6. Children's church is provided and nursery services are available. The senior group, Friends of a Certain Age, will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Those attending should bring a dish to share. Church members are continuing to prepare for the fall bazaar scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25. Homemade noodles and apple dumplings will be available for sale along with numerous crafts and a complete lunch menu. Following the bazaar, the church will host its annual Trunk or Treat in the parking lot with hot dogs and snacks for the children. The church is located 19397 County Road 216/Brown Road and is handicapped accessible. College First FINDLAY — "Messengers" is the sermon title for services at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday at College First Church of God. The scripture will be Philippians 2:19-24. Encounter will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday. These gatherings begin with enthusiastic worship followed by various games, snacks, scripture memory and lessons in a fun and loving atmosphere. Contact Nicky or the church office with questions. Finally Friday on Oct. 31 will feature a Boo Bash for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. There will be wagon rides, games, a costume competition with G-rated costumes and candy. The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The next Senior Fun Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall. The main course will be a "Walking Taco" with all the fixings. Attendees are asked to bring a salad, side dish or desert to share. Drinks and table service will be provided. Following the meal, a special program celebrating the 75th anniversary of the construction and dedication of the original church building will be presented. To register, contact the Rev. College First, St. Marks United Methodist Church and Movement Church will combine efforts to present a Night To Shine, part of the Tim Tebow Foundation, that provides a prom night experience for people with special needs. This is the fourth year for the event locally which is scheduled Feb. 13, 2026 at the University of Findlay's Alumni Memorial Union. Tucker O'Leary will share the message from Luke 17:11-19. Services are at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Special music will be provided by the senior choir and the Sunday school choir. A noisy offering will be collected for a local charity. Sunday school for youth and adults meets at 9:30 a.m. The junior youth group will meet at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Requests this month for the Blessing Basket Food Pantry at St. John's Lutheran Church include canned tuna and canned chicken. These items can be placed on the cart by the elevator or dropped off at the pantry on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. O'Leary continues to lead a 15-minute midday prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday in the chapel for members and people of our community to sit and refocus their day with personal prayer. Holy Communion will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday, while a short healing service will be available on Monday and Wednesday. The church's rummage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 18. First Presbyterian FINDLAY — First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., welcomes all to worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. Elder Greg Kuhlman will be preaching, and all are invited to come sing in the Pop-Up Choir at 9 a.m. Following worship, the church will host this week's community dinner in the great room with serving from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Coffee hospitality is available beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall and continues after the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers begins at 9:45 a.m. All are welcome. The church will hold a garage sale from 4-7 p.m. Thursday (Early Bird Special $10), 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. All proceeds will support First Presbyterian's Child Care Project. Good Hope Lutheran, Arlington ARLINGTON — Good Hope Lutheran Church will observe the 18th Sunday after Pentecost at three services this weekend. The Rev. Steve Ramsey will deliver the message, "Remembering That One Little Girl," at 5 p.m. today and again at 7:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Bible lessons to be read include: 2 Kings 5:1-15, Psalm 111, 2 Timothy 2:8-15 and Luke 17:11-19. Sunday school and Bible study for all ages will begin at 9 a.m. with fellowship and refreshments in the educational unit. Classes are available for everyone. Musicians for this weekend include Pam McCloud today and Montgomery Moore on Sunday. Moore will accompany the senior choir at the 10 a.m. service when they sing "Autumn Sky," under the direction of Dan Basinger. Moore will also perform "Let Us Walk with Jesus" for the prelude and "Great is Thy Faithfulness" for the offertory. Confirmation classes will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday, followed by Pizza and Jesus for all the youth of the congregation at 7. Teen Breakfast will be held on Thursday with a hot breakfast being served at 7 a.m. for all students in grades 7-12. A devotional speaker will share a message before the students walk to school at 8 a.m. A family fun event will be held from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 18. All ages are welcome to attend. St. Andrew's UM FINDLAY — The Rev. Amy Miller will share her message, "The God Who Gives First," during the 9 a.m. worship service at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Services include scripture, music, prayer, a children's message and a meaningful sermon. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome to participate. Highlights of the church's ministries will also be shared. This Sunday, the Jubilation Choir will sing "Give Thanks." The service will be available to view online at both saumcfindlay.org and on Facebook. It also airs live on WFIN Radio and WFIN.com . The church will host a trunk or treat party from 4-5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the parking lot west of the church. This is a free event that is open to the community. There will be decorated trunks and treats, all in a safe, family-friendly space. St. Marks UM FINDLAY — "Goodness" is the subject of the Rev. Dan Metzger's sermon at St. Marks United Methodist Church on Sunday. He is leading the congregation through the "fruit of the spirit." According to Christian teaching, a genuine believer is known by their "fruit," which refers to the observable evidence of a transformed life through the Holy Spirit, including virtues like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. St. Marks has two worship services on Sundays: a traditional service at 9 a.m. and a contemporary service at 10:45. Both services are livestreamed and can be viewed from the church's Facebook page and at StMarksFindlay.org . Director of Discipleship Mandi Stevens has created another weekly "Faith 5" to encourage daily reading of the Bible. The scripture for this week is 1 John 1:5-10. For anyone who wants more fellowship, there are currently five adult Bible study classes available throughout the week. St. Paul Lutheran, Jenera JENERA — The 18th Sunday after Pentecost will be observed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, at the 9 a.m. traditional service and the 11:15 a.m. contemporary service. Both services will be led by the Rev. Deb Noll. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10:15. Confirmation class meets at 5 p.m. with the youth group, ReFUEL, having a bonfire from 6-9 p.m. The monthly congregational council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Kids Praise starts its fall schedule at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday with a meal, followed by classes from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Bible study for grades 6-12 is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Adult Bible study will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The church's Fall Fest/Trunk or Treat begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18. All area youth are invited to this annual event. Salem New Beginnings FINDLAY — Salem New Beginnings Church, 4699 County Road 236, will host a Family Fall Fest at 5 p.m. Oct. 25. The event will feature food, games, a bonfire, fall treats and more. On Sundays, the church's worship services begin at 9:30 a.m. Trinity Luthera, Arcadia ARCADIA — Trinity Lutheran Church welcomes Dave Noel to the pulpit on Sunday. The choir will sing "The Longer I Serve Him." Youth will leave for Sunday school after the children's message. All are welcome to have refreshments after the service.The church will host its annual bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. The event will feature homemade apple dumplings which can be purchased, noodles, sandwiches, potato salad and desserts. There will also be a bake sale as well as crafts. All are welcome. Upper Room FINDLAY — Life groups for all ages meet regularly at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays at the Upper Room Church of God, 520 W. Bigelow Ave. A spirit-filled worship follows at 10:30. The Rev. Ken McBeath will be honored this week on Pastor Appreciation Sunday. Bishop Ron Martin will be the guest speaker. Martin is the recently retired administrative bishop of the Church of God in Ohio. Bible studies for men, women, teens and children are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Those interested can join at anytime. West Independence FOSTORIA — The Rev. Ben Wallick will present the sermon, "Ancient of Days," taken from Daniel 7:9-14, on Sunday at West Independence Church. The adult choir will also sing. Junior Church for students in pre-K through fifth grade will take place during worship. Following the service, coffee fellowship will be held in the Family Life Center. Sunday school classes begin at 10:15 a.m. and are available for all ages, nursery through adult. The worship service is livestreamed on YouTube.
