Van Buren in sixth at state after Day 1

PREP GOLF SUNBURY – Led by matching scores of 79 from Jake Schroeder and Cole Bishop, Van Buren posted a 331 team total on Monday and stood in sixth place after the first day of the Division III boys state golf tournament being played at the NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury.Ben Heitkamp added an 83 and Andrew Hibbard a 90 for Van Buren. Ian Wilhelm carded a 93.Defending Division III state champion Warren JFK led the field Monday with a 309, 10 strokes ahead of Berlin Hiland.
