Leipsic earns all-PCL volleyball honors

VOLLEYBALL ALL-PCLMILLER CITY – Leipsic's Brent Newell was named coach of the year and seniors Danaysia Danzy and Karmyn Brough were first-team selections in the all-Putnam County League volleyball selections for the 2025 season.Newell guided the Vikings to league championships in both the Putnam County League and Northwest Conference. Ranked No. 2 in the final Division VII poll of the season, Leipsic will take a 21-1 record into post-season play when the Vikings host Lima Temple Christian on Wednesday in the second of two sectional tournament games at Leipsic.Danzy had 432 kills, 14 blocks and 205 digs. Brough was 1,833-of-1,846 setting with 775 assists.Leipsic's Jaelynn Siefer (341 digs) and Kya Brandt (188 kills, 184 digs) were second-team all-PCL.Pandora-Gilboa had two first-team all-PCL players in Ava Huffman (456 digs, 34 ace serves) and Corrin Luginbill (297 kills, 33 blocks). Columbus Grove's Lydia Sarka (235 kills) and Aubrey Schroeder (243 kills) were second-team selections. ALL-NWCLIMA – Bluffton's Kendall Stackhouse and Karlee Lora and Columbus Grove's Aubrey Schroeder were first-team selections in the 2025 all-Northwest Conference volleyball selections.Stackhouse had 278 kills and 73 digs. Lora recorded 220 kills, 37 blocks and 144 digs for the Pirates, who were 15-7 overall and finished second (6-1) to Convoy Crestview (7-0) in the league standings. Bluffton seniors Vanessa Cross (327 digs, 34 ace) and Libby Hocanson (131 kills) were second-team all-NWC.Schroeder (243 kills) was first-team all-NWC, and freshman Lydia Sarka (235 kills) earned second-team honors. ALL-NWC SOCCERLIMA – Bluffton and Columbus Grove players and coaches swept top honors in the 2025 Northwest Conference boys and girls soccer all-league selections for the 2025 season.Columbus Grove's Ruth Meyers was the NWC Girls Player of the Year and Bluffton's Isaiah Kohli won the same honor in the boys all-NWC balloting.Bluffton's Jamie Mehaffie was the NWC Girls Coach of the Year, and Bluffton's Dan Lee shared boys coach of the year honors with Lincolnview's Fletcher Collins and Lima Centrl Catholic's Grant Pisel.Columbus Grove's Devanie Pingle joined Meyers on the girls all-NWC first team, along with Bluffton's Aubrey Burkholder, Mya McDougle, Kynzie Ewing and Blair Utendorf.Columbus Grove's Jade Roeder, Liv Mayberry and Allison Thompson and Bluffton's Avery Ulrey and Landon Selhorst were second-team.Nine player from Bluffton's NWC championship boys team were recognized, with Ethan Blount, Gavin Amstutz, Chase Kelly, and Calvin Derstine joining Kohli on the first team and Carter Steinmetz, Emmitt Kidd, Ollie Combs and Landon Selhorst, landing second-team honors.
