Gerten throws for two touchdowns as Rockets rout Riverdale

P-GILBOA 43RIVERDALE 7MOUNT BLANCHARD – Pandora-Gilboa quarterback Cory Gerten, who set the school career passing record a week ago, completed 9-of-11 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns in the Rockets 43-7 BVC win over Riverdale on Friday.Gerten, wo has 6,667 career passing yards, hit Chase Meyer for a 61-yard catch-and-run TD and Ben Burholder scored on 9- and 6-yard runs during P-G's 24-point first quarter. The Rockets led 37-0 at the half.Meyer caught three passes for 124 yards and Zahnder Boggs hauled in four passes for 91 yards and a score.P-G ended regular season play at 6-4 overall, 4-4 in the BVC. Unofficially, the Rockets will host Montpelier (6-4) Friday in a Division VII, Rgion 26 playoff game.Riverdale (0-10, 0-8 BVC) scored its TD in the third quarter when Kydin Reed hooked up with Cale Young on a 45-yard score. L-BENTON 49VAN BUREN 7VAN BUREN– Liberty-Benton won the outright Blanchard Valley Conference title with a dominant 49-7 win over Van Buren on Friday.Zach Elchert had 174 rushing yards and four touchdowns for the Eagles. Conner Barbara ran for 154 yards on six carries, scoring two touchdowns, including a 66-yard score in the first quarter. Barbara completed six of his 14 passes for 65 yards. Asher Norman rushed for 92 yards on five carries, notching a fourth-quarter TD. Van Buren's Brady Lance went 13-of-31 on passes, throwing for 66 yards and a touchdown. That TD was to Will Rampe, who ended with seven catches for 35 yards. The Eagles, now 10-0 and 8-0 in BVC play, turn their attention to the playoffs. The Black Knights finish their season with a 6-4 record. LEIPSIC 47ADA 14LEIPSIC– Marquise Williams stuffed the stat sheet as Leipsic decimated Ada 47-14 in BVC action on Friday night.Williams scored four touchdowns for the Vikings, running for 216 yards on just 13 carries. Aaron Hazleton added 157 yards on the ground, carrying the ball 15 times. Marc Kirkendall went 8-of-24 on passes, throwing for 201 yards and two scores while adding a 45-yard QB keeper for a TD. Avery Paris had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. Eban Hardy recorded a 27-yard TD grab as well. Kayleb Hickman notched a 90-yard kickoff return for the Bulldogs, and added three receptions for 43 yards. Blake Zoladz threw for 133 yards and a touchdown, tallying 36 yards on the ground. Gavin Oldfield was the recipient of Zoladz' TD throw, finishing with 78 yards on five catches.The Vikings, now 9-1 and 7-1 in BVC games, move on the post-season play next week. Ada (5-5, 3-4 BVC) was mathematically eliminated following the loss. MCCOMB 51ELMWOOD 0MCCOMB– McComb trounced Elmwod 51-0 on Friday in a home BVC contest. Grady Schroeder threw for 169 yards and two TDs for the Panthers, adding five carries, 49 yards, and a touchdown on the ground. Cam Smith had five catches for 72 yards and a score. Kahle Drown finished with five carries for 52 yards, Gracin Romero had six carries for 47 yards, and Brayden Heller had eight carries for 45 yards. Each of them scored a TD as well. Carter Frater had three catches for 41 yards, while Luke Kern added five catches for 35 yards and a score.Elmwood ended with just 40 total yards of offense in Friday's loss. Braxton Simon passed for 27 yards, going 5-for-12.McComb finishes its season with a 5-5 overall record and 4-4 mark in the BVC. Elmwood wraps up its season going 1-9, including 1-7 in the BVC. U. SANDUSKY 41B. CENTRAL 6NEW WASHINGTON– Upper Sandusky defeated N10 opponent Buckeye Central 41-6 on Friday night. Ethan Lewis led the Rams with 150 yards on 24 carries, scoring three touchdowns. Keegan Dunn completed seven of his 15 passes, throwing for 150 yards and a score. Josh Heilman had 72 yards on two receptions, scoring a TD. Ezekiel Baldwin added 79 yards on three catches. The Rams wrap up the regular season with a 4-6 record, and 3-4 in the N10. CAREY 71BUCYRUS 0CAREY– Carey clinched a postseason bid with a 71-0 dismantling of Northern-10 opponent Bucyrus on Friday night.Dash and Mace Puckett each notched two rushing touchdowns for the Blue Devils. Carter Bame, Eli Steen, and Tristen Mulholland all added rushing touchdowns. Lucas Smith-Hayward scored on a kick return, while Dalton Roberts had a receiving score. Carey, now 6-4 overall and 6-1 in the N10, advances to the postseason next week. P. HENRY 51EVERGREEN 3METAMORA– Patrick Henry scored 26 points in the second quarter to rout Evergeeen 51-3.Tristen Rosebrook passed for 217 yards and two touchdowns for the Patriots, going 11-for-15. Cal Schroeder ran the ball for 102 yards on 14 carries, notching five touchdowns. Reid Creager had 88 yards and a touchdown through the air. Patrick Henry ends the regular season with an 8-2 record, and now looks ahead to the postseason. LIMA SHAWNEE 27O-GLANDORF 10OTTAWA– Lima Shawnee's 20-point second quarter helped it to a 27-10 win over WBL foe Ottawa-Glandorf on Friday.Oscar Salsburey led the Titans, rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown. Tanner Vogt completed 10 of his 18 pass attempts for 88 yards. Nolan Horstman caught four passes for 40 yards. Ian Buddelmeyer had 26 yards receiving, and Deegan Miller added 20 yards receiving. The Titans' 2025 season ends with an 0-10 record, including 0-9 in the WBL. CHRISTIAN 20C-RAWSON 17RAWSON– Toledo Christian defeated Cory-Rawson 20-17 in an overtime game on Friday night.Logan Inbody's 8-yard run in the second quarter tied things up at seven for the Hornets. Cory-Rawson tied the game again at 14 apiece in the fourth quarter, as Logan Inbody ran in a 10-yard score. Carson Reese connected on a 32-yard field goal in overtime, but Toledo Christian scored an OT touchdown to steal the win.Cory-Rawson's season ends with an 0-10, 0-8 NWCC record. OTSEGO 42FOSTORIA 0FOSTORIA– Otsego defeated Northern Buckeye Conference opponent Fostoria on the road Friday.Otsego improved to 5-5 and 3-4 in the NBC with its win.The Redmen end their 2025 season with an 0-10 record.
