Arcadia voters reelect 1 to village council

ARCADIA — One incumbent will continue her work on Arcadia Village Council, while three new members will be joining her following Tuesday's general election. Stephanie Balderson was reelected to council with 71 votes, according to unofficial results from the Hancock County Board of Elections. The three others who received the most votes in the race were Carol McDonald with 79 votes; Jeff Hanna, 68 votes; and Shelley Hill, 67 votes. Candidates who had also vied for one of the four open seats included incumbents Rhonda Dingelstedt with 65 votes, and Aadam Duckett, 45 votes; along with Carol Ann Berning, 63 votes; and Michelle Hengsteler, 56 votes. Council members serve four-year terms. Balderson has served multiple terms on village council, and is a former mayor. She has also worked with the Heart and Soul Committee Dingelstedt has 10-plus years' experience on council and has participated in the Heart and Soul process. Duckett has served four years on council and helped set up the Arcadia Community Heart and Soul. He has an information technology business, Budder Technology. He is also working on a dissertation for a doctoral degree in business management from South College, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
