Findlay High athletes sign letters of intent

A number of Findlay High students signed national letters of intent on Wednesday, with two opting to continue their athletic careers with the University of Findlay.Natalie Gutman (cross country) and Olivia Gayhart (girls soccer) signed letters of intent with UF. Gutman was first-team all-Northern Lakes League in both cross country and track, and a state qualifier in track in the 1,600-meter run. Gayhart, who was recently named all-Ohio for the second straight year, was a team MVP and compiled 316 intercepts and 925 steals during her four-year career at FHS.Two FHS softball players – Ryan Boes and Addie Sprang – signed with NCAAS Division II schools.Sprang, who was first-team all-league and honorable mention all-Ohio, signed with Wheeling University. The four-year starter batted .513 last spring, drove in 36 runs and established school records for home runs hit in a season (8, shared) and career (16).Boes also lettered all four years and last spring and batted .313, drove in 15 runs and moved within four doubles of setting the school record in that category. An outfielder, Boes signed with East Stroudsburg University.Leipsic's Brevin Brandt also signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday and will play golf for Tiffin University.
