Allen steps down as UF football coach

Twenty years ago, Kory Allen came to the University of Findlay's football program as an offensive line coach. In 2025, in his fourth season as the program's head coach, Allen led the Oilers to a 10-1 regular season, a piece of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference title, and a Division II playoff berth. On Sunday, his run with the University ended, as Allen resigned to take another college coaching opportunity. The details of that have yet to be determined. "We are incredibly thankful for Coach Allen's two decades of dedication to the University of Findlay," University of Findlay Director of Athletics Jim Givens said in a statement released by the school. "He has played a major role in the elevation of our football program into the national spotlight and has done so while developing our student-athletes into quality young men who represent our university in a positive way. While change is always difficult, we wish Coach Allen nothing but the success as he makes this decision to move on from Findlay." Allen was 33-12 as the program's head coach. His winning percentage (.733) is the highest in the program since Dick Strahm. Allen released a statement on his X account. "For 20 years, and the last four as a Head Coach, I had the pleasure of coaching and mentoring young men in this program," Allen said. "It became more than a job. It became home." Allen proceeded to thank UF's leadership, coaching staff, fans and his family. "Finally, thank you to the players, past and present who have worn the Orange & Black," Allen said. "You are what made this such an incredible journey. Forever an Oiler!" The school will begin a national search for its next head coach.
