Shradha Samuel, MD, joins Blanchard Valley Health System

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has announced Shradha Samuel, MD, has been hired to the Department of Surgery as the first vascular surgeon hired through a partnership with Ohio State University. Dr. Samuel joins Ohio State and BVHS from Bryan Heart and Vascular in Lincoln, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Missouri Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program, Dr. Samuel practices a spectrum of vascular care including open, endovascular, and non-invasive treatment of arterial and venous disease. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Samuel completed her general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine after completing a post-baccalaureate pre-medical certificate at Creighton. Her clinical interests include peripheral artery disease (PAD), claudication, limb salvage, carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysm management, dialysis access creation, and mesenteric/renovascular disease. Her scholarly work includes publications in the Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, Innovations and Techniques, and Injury, among others, reflecting interests in limb revascularization techniques and perioperative optimization. Outside of medicine, Dr. Samuel and her husband are avid hikers who love exploring U.S. national parks. She's also a devoted Star Trek fan.
