JOSEPH 44VANLUE – Vanlue's Madi Brooks and Alison Brooks provided both the offense and the defense that earned the Wildcats their first win of the season on Saturday, a 45-44 victory over Fremont St. Joseph.Vanlue overcame a 44-42 deficit in the final 3.5 seconds of the game.Fouled with 3.5 seconds on the clock, Madi Brooks converted two free throws to tie the game at 44. Vanlue regained possession when a St. Joseph player stepped on the end line trying to inbound the ball. Alison Brooks was fouled and made one of the two free throws, putting the Wildcats up 45-44. Madi Brooks then deflected a pass, denying St. Joseph a chance at one last shot.Madi Brooks had an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double.
