P-G 54 McCOMB 47 PANDORA—Savanna Knueven scored 19 points, had six rebounds and five steals, and Pandora-Gilboa shook off a third-quarter run by McComb to knock off the Panthers, 54-47. The Rockets led the Panthers 20-15 at halftime, but McComb opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run, taking a 22-20 lead. But the Rockets recovered, as Ava Huffman finished with 15 points and seven assists, and Kelsie Carlson added 13 points and four steals. Morgan Kern paced McComb with 16 points, while Madison Beckman added 10. P-G improved to 6-5, 4-1 in the BVC. JV: McComb, 13-2. Crestview made 16 field goals, Bluffton made 17. Each team made three 3-pointers. But the difference in the Knights' 51-44 win was at the free throw line. The Knights led by 36-32 after three quarters. They went 9 of 10 from the stripe in the fourth quarter to pull away. Bluffton made – and attempted – one foul shot in the fourth. Madison Ernst scored 17 points on five 3-pointers, and Jada Smith added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Devils, who were tied, 54-54 at the end of regulation with the Falcons before outscoring them 6-4 in the extra session. Riverdale led 18-13 after one and 31-24 at the break before a big third quarter brought the Red Devils back. Marissa Bonham scored 16 points and had 15 boards for Riverdale, which fell to 7-5, 4-1 in the BVC. Clair Inbody scored 14 for Riverdale, while Dylann Thacker added 11 and Kenzie Furr eight. BOYS BASKETBALL VAN BUREN 50 LEPSIC 40 LEIPSIC – Will Rampe scored eight of his team-leading 16 points in the first, helping Van Buren to 20-4 lead at the first stop and propelling the Black Knights to a 50-40 win at Leipsic. Finn Martin and Alex Homan each scored 10 points for Van Buren, which won for the eighth consecutive time after dropping the season opener to Ottawa-Glandorf Nov. 26. The Black Knights, who have already defeated last season's BVC champion Liberty-Benton and state semifinalist Arlington, improved to 5-0 in the conference. Leipsic, which notched its first win of the season on Tuesday, had a rough time offensively for the game's first three quarters, managing just 17 points. But the Vikings, paced by Calvin Miller, got hot in the fourth quarter. Miller made three of his four 3s in the fourth, and finished with a team-high 14 points. Leipsic outscored the Black Knights 23-13 in the fourth quarter, but dropped to 1-9, 0-4 in the BVC. Both teams have a game on Saturday.
