BEAUTY & BEAST FINDLAY 52BUCYRUS 27FINDLAY – Four Findlay High wrestlers pinned their opponents and two others won by technical fall when the Trojans defeated Bucyrus 52-27 on Saturday in a dual-match wrestling competition held in conjunction with the Beauty and the Beast event at Findlay High.Robert Palmer, wrestling in the 138-pound weight class, pinned Benjamin Atwood in 1:57 for Findlay's fastest pin of the match. Cashel West (150) stopped Kolten Eldrige in 2:58, Caleb Kanney (175) pinned Isaac Makeever in 3:37, and Alex Mendoza (126) also needed just 3:37 for his pin over Nykkelis Zorn-Hamilton.Teague Perkins (106) scored an 18-0 tech fall win over Jay Wills, and Tyler Gonder (215) defeated Parker Nelson by a 19-4 score. 'A' CLASSICWOODMORE – Three Van Buren wrestlers placed second in their weight class and the Black Knights were third in the team standings of the Woodmore 'A' Classic.Brooks Hill, Cooper Hanna and Drew Phillips all placed second for Van Buren. Hill, who set the school record for career pins a week ago, pinned five opponents and went 5-1 in the 144-pound division. Hanna (132) and Phillips (175) both went 6-1 in their seven matches in earning runner-up honors.Johnie Omlor (150) and Landon Miller (190) finished fourth and Luke Martin (215) and Tommy Basinger (165) placed sixth for the Knights, who finished behind Woodmore and Oak Harbor in the team standings.Ada's Silas Riblet also placed second in the 'A' Classic, posting a 5-1 record with three pins and a tech fall in the 126-pound class. Hopewell-Loudon's Isaiah Hook was third at 165. RON THOMAS INVITEPLAIN CITY – Arcadia's Kale Price pinned Johnstown's Dominic Dolfi in 1:46 in the final match to win the 150-pound championship at the Ron Thomas Wrestling Invitational hosted by Jonathan Alder on Saturday.Price followed a first round bye with four straight win – three of them by pin – in advancing to the championship match.Arcadia's Wade Trout (126) placed sixth and Chandlar Derck (106) and Zach Altvater (285) were seventh. PERRYSBURG INVITEPERRYSBURG – Riverdale's Grady Phelps went 5-2 and placed fifth in his weight division at the highly competitive Perrysburg Invitational Tournament (PIT) on Saturday.Phelps, ranked No. 3 in his 138-pound weight class in Division III by BOROFANOHIO.NET lost only twice in seven matches, once to Perrysburg's Chase Davis and once to Green's Joel Brink, the No. 10-ranked wrestler in Division I.Elmwood's Christopher Clark was eighth in the tournament at 285.
