Wyandot Fair Queen places in statewide contest

UPPER SANDUSKY — Wyandot County 2025 Fair Queen Kyla Conley was third runner up against 75 other Ohio county fair queens at the 2026 Ohio fair Queen competition this past weekend. The contest took place in Columbus during the 2026 Ohio Fair Managers Association conference. Royalty from 76 counties were present. Erie County Queen Edith Solet won the contest. Richwood, IN Queen Chloe Dickey got first runner-up, Fairfield County Queen Isabella Busey took second runner-up, Conley received third runner-up and Geauga County Queen Campbell Reese took fourth runner-up. Hancock County fair royalty did not place in the contest. Conley, an Upper Sandusky senior, said she comes from a line of royalty. "Both of my sisters were Wyandot County Fair queens," she said. "My mom was as well and my dad also served as king." Involved in the fair scene since she was a child, Conley said she started by showing poultry at the fair with her older siblings. More recently, she said she showed a dairy cow and was disappointed to have to let it go after fair time. Now, she's served on FFA, Jr. Fair Board, 4-H, Student Council, National Honors Society and Young Professionals. "I like to stay busy," she said. She also works part-time for the Lincoln Way Animal Hospital in Upper Sandusky. When she's not busy, she said she enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also said she is honored to have been afforded so many experiences and opportunities. "It's been a blessing," she said. After she graduates high school this spring, Conley plans on attending the Ohio State University to major in animal sciences.
