Hot-handed Trojans cruise past Scott

FINDLAY &emsp;&emsp;66 SCOTT &emsp;&emsp;24 TOLEDO – Findlay High's girls basketball team made just one 3-point basket in Wednesday's game at Toledo Scott. The Trojans were so efficient from inside the arc, that one was more than enough. Running its offense to get inside open looks, Findlay made 64.4 percent of its 2-pointers (29-of-45) in cruising to a 66-24 win over the Bulldogs. Ten FHS players scored in a balanced showing by the Trojans. Davinee Harris led the way with 13 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists in just three quarters on the floor. Kaylee Mangas (6 steals) added 11 points, Maggie Crates chipped in with nine and Mihaya Saito netted eight, also in three quarters playing time. Findlay outscored Scott 17-6 in the first quarter and led 40-16 at the half. The Trojans' third straight win and fifth in six games boosted their record to 9-5 heading into Saturday's home game with a Norwalk team that is 10-4 and riding a four-game winning streak. Avalon Scott led Toledo Scott with 10 points. The Bulldogs, after starting the season 2-2, dropped their 11th straight game to fall to 2-13.
