Inbody, Riverdale dominate Black Knights

MOUNT BLANCHARD – In just her freshman season, Riverdale's Claire Inbody had what many would refer to as a career game Thursday against Van Buren. Inbody shot 10 of 13 from the floor, finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds. She outscored the Black Knights by herself in a 56-22 victory. Marissa Bonham added seven points and nine boards for the Falcons, who improved to 9-6, 6-1 in the BVC. Dylann Thacker added eight points for Riverdale. The Falcons jumped out to a 17-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Van Buren – which shot only 8 of 54 from the field – was paced by Brooklyn Wilkin's eight points. Ryleigh Bostic and Elyse Boes each scored eight points for Arcadia, which moved to 12-3, 6-2 in the BVC. The Vikings got 22 points, nine rebounds and two blocks from Kya Brandt. The Pirates got going in the third quarter, however, using a 19-5 spurt to take control of the game and propel Bluffton to a 45-35 win over the Lancers. Madelyn Hartman recorded nine points and six boards for Arlington; Madison Ernst seven points and six rebounds. The game was close most of the way. It was tied at eight after the first quarter, and the Red Devils led just 32-28 after three. But Arlington outscored the Rockets 15-7 in the fourth to pull away. NORTHERN 64 PERRY 16 LIMA – Hardin Northern had little trouble with winless Lima Perry Thursday, getting 17 points from Kaylie Bacon and rolling to a 62-16 win. Kalie Couch scored 13 for the Polar Bears, and Addy Bacon added 11 as Hardin Northern improved to 11-6. The Polar Bears will host Ridgedale Jan. 29. O-G 79 ST. MARYS 60 OTTAWA – Karsyn Erford scored 27 points in Ottawa-Glandorf's 79-60 WBL win over St. Marys Thursday. With that total, Erford broke the Titans all-time program mark for points. O-G improved to 16-0, 6-0 in the Western Buckeye League. Madison Montgomery added 17 points and reached double-digit rebounds. Kayla Fulmer had 18 points to lead the Roughriders, who fell to 10-7, 3-3 in the WBL. N. BALTIMORE 59W-GOSHEN 40WAYNESFIELD– Lacie Allison sank seven three-pointers on Thursday as North Baltimore won an NWCC clash with Waynesfield-Goshen 59-40 on the road. Allison finished Thursday's win with 39 points, 17 rebounds, and four steals for the Tigers. Aubrey Cotterman and Leah Trout both finished with seven points. Kaylee Allison tacked on six points and five assists. Makenna Shaw led W-G with 13 points. Brooklyn Dewitt tacked on nine. Both Emma Pence and Avery Kessen had six. North Baltimore improved to 15-2 following the victory, including 5-0 in the NWCC. The Tigers travel to Sandusky on Monday at 6 p.m. in non-conference action. COL. GROVE 44S-VILLE 24COLUMBUS GROVE– Columbus Grove opened Thursday's game with a 14-0 first quarter, defeating NWC rival Spencerville 44-24 at home. Kendal Plate scored 10 to lead the Bulldogs in the win. Saige Benroth finished with nine points. Nicole Nesby, who became the all-time leading rebounder for Columbus Grove girls basketball in the win with 718, ended with eight points and nine boards. Lydia Sarka added seven points and eight rebounds. The Bulldogs improved to 14-2 in the win, including a perfect 5-0 in the Northwest Conference. Columbus Grove travels to Arlington on Saturday at 1:15 for a non-conference meeting. BOYS BASKETBALLH-LOUDON 47TIFF. CALVERT 32BASCOM– Despite a two-point second quarter, Hopewell-Loudon held on to defeat Tiffin Calvert 47-32 on Thursday evening in boys SBC-River action. Ashton Miller knocked down two three-pointers, finishing with a game-high 23 for the Chieftains. Kellen Frankart pitched in 11 points. Dexter Stacy tacked on seven, hitting a pair of triples. Logan Ritzler led the Senecas with 15 points in the loss. Logan Demoss added six. The Chieftains, now up to 7-5 and 4-2 in the SBC-River, host Old Fort on Saturday at 7 p.m. for another conference contest.
