Aukerman joins Stefanski's staff with Atlanta Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – From Doc Miller Field and Donnell Stadium to places like Hard Rock Stadium and Nissan Stadium, Craig Aukerman's NFL journey continues. Aukerman's next stop will be Mercedes-Benz Field in Atlanta after it was announced this week that the McComb High School and University of Findlay graduate is joining the staff of new Atlanta Falcons' coach Kevin Stefanski as special teams coordinator. Aukerman was special teams coordinator for the Miami Dolphins last season and the Los Angeles Rams in 2024. Before that he was with the Tennessee Titans for seven seasons, where he also served as assistant head coach from 2019-23. His 16 years in the NFL ranks includes stints with the Denver Broncos (2010), Jacksonville Jaguars (2011-12) and San Diego Chargers (2013-16). A multi-sport standout at McComb, Aukerman was the Blanchard Valley Conference Player of the Year in both football and basketball his senior year (1994-95). He was a four-year letterman for the University of Findlay football team, a member of the Oilers 1997 national championship squad and a two-time NAIA all-American. After earning his degree from UF in 1999, Aukerman returned to the school and began his coaching career as the Oilers wide receivers coach. He would add college coaching stops at Kent State, Miami (Ohio), and Western Kentucky before moving on to the NFL ranks.
