Riverdale tops Arcadia, keeps pace in BVC

RIVERDALE 51 ARCADIA 35 ARCADIA – Marissa Bonham and Claire Inbody each notched double-doubles, and Riverdale kept pace in the BVC standings with a 51-35 win at Arcadia. It was a big win for the Falcons, who lost to the Redskins last season and missed out on a share of the league title. "We always look for the marquee win," said Riverdale coach Drew Bostic, in a postgame interview with Scanner Media. "We have a ton of respect for (Arcadia's) program…we knew we had to come over and give it our best fight." Dylann Thacker scored 14 points for the Falcons, who led 22-13 at the half and then outscored the Redskins 19-11 in the third to take complete control of the game. Bonham had 11 points and 11 rebounds, with Inbody contributing 10 points and 10 boards. Riverdale improved to 10-7, 7-1 in the BVC, just behind Liberty-Benton – which in undefeated in conference games – in the league standings. The Redskins struggled offensively, making just 5 of 28 2-point shots and 10 of 46 field goal attempts overall. Riverdale, by contrast, was 20 of 42 from the floor. "They just played harder than we did. Their shots went in, ours didn't," Arcadia coach Randy Baker told Scanner Media.
