UF women survive scare at Cedarville

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FINDLAY 60CEDARVILLE 57CEDARVILLE– The University of Findlay survived a late scare on Saturday, notching its sixth-straight victory on the road against Cedarville, 60-57.Allie Stockton led the way for the Oilers, putting up a well-rounded statline of 17 points, nine rebounds, and four steals while hitting a pair of three-pointers. Ariyah Douglas tacked on four triples, scoring 15 to go with four assists and two steals. The Oilers found themselves down by one at the half, but a 21-12 third quarter put them in a good position headed into the fourth. Despite Cedarville winning the fourth 23-18, Findlay's excellent third was enough to secure a sixth consecutive win and move the Oilers even further up the G-MAC standings.Forward Alyssa Ziehler posted 11 points, eight boards, and three steals. Point guard Taylor Stanley ended with eight points, and wing MacKenzie Schulz added six points and six rebounds. Ella Sellars paced the Yellow Jackets with 14 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Regan Hubert knocked down two triples, scoring 12 along with six rebounds and five steals. Emma Kay Martin recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Chloe Downing finished with nine points and three steals. Now 12-8 and 8-5 in G-MAC contests, the Oilers are up to fifth place in the conference standings. Steele Meister notched his third-highest point total of the season, posting 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists, hitting two three-pointers and going 6-of-11 from the field. Point guard Anthony Johnson also connected on two triples, going for 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Former Findlay High Trojan Max Roth recorded 11 points and two assists, going a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe in just 15 minutes. Mekhi Elmore had nine points, three rebounds, and two assists, while Alex Kendall put up eight points and six rebounds. Cedarville's Jaylen Davis went 3-for-9 from downtown, finishing with 18 points and four boards. Ethan Sellars knocked down a trio of long-range shots as well, scoring 17 points off the bench. Anthony Ruffolo had 14 points and four rebounds, and Sam Johnson added 12 points with a game-high eight rebounds. Findlay improved to 14-8 overall and 8-6 in G-MAC matchups following the win.
