Arcadia UM ARCADIA — Arcadia United Methodist Church will open with Sunday school at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 10. The Rev. Gerry Hubbs will speak on "From the Ashes: Contemplation." The United Women of Faith will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday with a program titled "Mapping Our Way Forward: Light for Our Path." All are invited to attend, and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 19397 County Road 216/Brown Road, and is handicapped accessible. College First FINDLAY — "Generous" is the sermon message for the 9, 10 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at College First Church of God. The scripture reading is 2 Corthinthians 9:6-12. Encounter meets from 6-7:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Activities include worship, games, snacks, scripture memory and lessons. Contact Nicky or the church office with questions. The next Senior Fun dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall. The main course will be ham balls. Table service and drinks are also provided. Attendees should bring a dessert, side dish or salad to share. Following the meal, guest speakers Carla Benjamin and Karen Wood will share news about the "Welcome to a New Life" mentorship program that seeks to help adults achieve crime- free, drug- free productive lives in the Findlay area. Sign-ups are posted outside the church office or on the Winebrenner resource table. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will both begin at 7 p.m. in the College First sanctuary. Instead of the usual three services on Easter, there will be one service starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. The service will combine both traditional and contemporary worship. A new sermon series titled "The Greatest Music Ever Written" will begin with the Easter sermon, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." First Lutheran FINDLAY — All are welcome as First Lutheran Church celebrates the third Sunday of Lent. The Rev. Tucker O'Leary will share the message from John 3:1-17. Services are at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Special music will be provided by the senior choir at the later service. A noisy offering will be collected by the youth for a special charity. Requests for the Blessing Basket Food Pantry at St. John's Lutheran Church this month include spaghetti sauce, mushroom soup, Saltines, peas, pancake mix and syrup. 40 Days of Giving continues, and items needed are listed in the monthly newsletter. These items can be placed on the cart by the elevator or dropped off at the pantry on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. O'Leary continues to lead a 15-minute midday prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday in the chapel. Holy Communion is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a short healing service is available on Mondays and Wednesdays. A Wednesday Lenten service led by the Findlay/Arcadia Lutheran area churches will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. Wednesday. First Presbyterian FINDLAY — First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., welcomes all to worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Lenten theme, "Tell Me Something Good," will continue as the congregation explores the good news of the Gospels. This week they will hear the good news that together the impossible is possible. The Rev. Tom Polker will be preaching. Coffee hospitality is available beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor and continues after the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers begins at 9:45 a.m. All are welcome. Following worship, the church will serve this week's community dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the great room. The meal is free and open to anyone. Good Hope Lutheran, Arlington ARLINGTON — Worship services at Good Hope Lutheran Church for the third Sunday of Lent will be held at 5 p.m. today and at 7:30 and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Members and visitors are always welcome. The Rev. Steve Ramsey's message will be "Water From The Well." Scripture readings will include Exodus 17:1-7, Psalm 95, Romans 5:1-11 and John 4:5-42. Pam McCloud will accompany hymns today, while Montgomery Moore will be the accompanist on Sunday. Bible study and Sunday school begin in the educational unit at 9 a.m. Refreshments and fellowship are available prior to class time. Sunday school classes are available for all ages from nursery to adults. This Sunday, school children in grades 1-3 will study Baby Moses from Exodus 2, while the lesson for grades 4-6 will be "Wilderness Wonderings" from the book of Numbers. At the 10 a.m. service, the senior choir will sing "Joseph Take Him Off The Tree," directed by Dan Basinger and accompanied by Moore. Moore will also offer "Christ, the Life of all the Living" as the prelude and "The Power of the Cross" during the offering. Sunday evening confirmation classes begin at 6 p.m., followed by Pizza and Jesus at 7. The Wednesday night Lenten service begins with a meal provided by members of the senior choir and bell choir. A soup supper is planned. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the worship service at 7. Ramsey's message for the week will include reflections on Simon Peter as a disciple of Jesus. A Teen Breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. Thursday for all students in grades 7-12. A hot breakfast will be followed by devotions. The bi-monthly food pantry is planned from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday. Anyone who is in need of this service should call the church office prior to Thursday to reserve a pickup time. All are welcome to receive a food box. Church members are asked to donate shampoo and toothpaste in March for the food pantry. St. Andrew's UM FINDLAY — The Rev. Amy Miller will share her message, "Waiting for Resurrection," at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The service includes scripture, music, prayer, a children's message and a meaningful sermon. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome to participate. The Jubilation Choir will sing "Lamb of God," and the Exalt! Bell Choir will perform "I'm Just a Poor Wayfaring Stranger." The service can be viewed online at saumcfindlay.org and on Facebook. It also airs live on WFIN Radio and WFIN.com St. Marks UM FINDLAY — St. Marks United Methodist Church continues its mission of welcoming all people to experience faith, fellowship and hope through worship and meaningful programs in the community. This Sunday, the Rev. Dan Metzger will continue his sermons on The Upper Room with "I Am The Way." The sermon is based on John 14:1-7. A traditional worship service is held each Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday school and then a contemporary worship service at 10:45. Worship services are livestreamed for online viewing. Members of the United Women in Faith are collecting vegetable seed packets to send to the Jackson Area Mission. These will help feed hungry people in southern Ohio by teaching them to garden. The church is preparing for the Good Friday community breakfast and the traditional Cross of Easter Lilies. St. Marks also offers GriefShare, a supportive program for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The program is open to anyone in the community who is seeking healing and support. The Rev. Deb Noll will present "Never Thirst Again." She will also lead worship at Serenity Spring at 2 p.m. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10:15. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Arcadia ARCADIA — Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18974 Ohio 12, welcomes all to the 9:30 a.m. service this week for the third Sunday in Lent. The Rev. Janet Wittenmyer will be preaching and communion will be served. The children will be dismissed after the children's message. The adult choir will sing "Lamb of God." A special service for Lent is planned Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. The Rev. Nicholas Lilienthal, from Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, will base his sermon, "The Kingly Priest," on Zechariah 6:9-13. Upper Room FINDLAY — "God's Dream Is Bigger Than Your Difficulty" is the sermon that will be presented Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at the Upper Room Church of God, 520 W. Bigelow Ave. The congregation will discover how to navigate through troubles that seem to be blocking the fulfillment of God's purpose for their life. Life groups for all ages meet regularly at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The church theme for 2026 is "Limitless." West Independence FOSTORIA — West Independence Church is a Global Methodist Church located east of Findlay at 22876 US 224. This Sunday the Rev. Ben Wallick will continue his sermon series on Revelation with the message, "The Lukewarm Church." Scripture will be read from Revelation 3:14-22. Junior Church, led by Youth and Children's Director Ed Moyer and Tina, will be available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade during worship. A nursery is also available during the service. The choir will sing. Congregational hymns and prayer are also part of the worship experience that begins at 9 a.m. Coffee fellowship follows the service. Zion UM FINDLAY — Weekly worship begins at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Zion United Methodist Church, 9009 W. Ohio 12. The Rev. Gay Blau will speak on "Rejection Gets Flipped," referenced in John 8:1-11. The congregation will also continue with its Lenten Bible study, "Hard to Dance with the Devil on Your Back," at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The church will host a spring bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 21.
