Fostoria man jailed in federal drug case

FOSTORIA — A Fostoria man remained in custody in Toledo Wednesday after having been arrested in connection with a federal drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 90 pounds of cocaine and hundreds of dollars in cash, according to authorities and broadcast reports.Epolito Rodriguez, 33, used Fostoria business Power Up Fostoria, 106 N. Main St., in activity that resulted in his arrest on Feb. 25 and his being charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, said a clerk in Toledo's U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.An employee of the Lucas County Corrections Center confirmed that Rodriguez was incarcerated on Wednesday.The clerk said searches of a semi-tractor trailer, the Fostoria business and Rodriguez's home resulted in the seizure of the drugs and more than $700,000.A broadcast report said a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officer filed an affidavit stating that allegations of Rodriguez's drug activity surfaced in late 2025.The clerk said electronic surveillance led investigators to Rodriguez's vehicle while it was in a Findlay parking lot, as well as the semi. A traffic stop near Columbus later that day resulted in $665,480 being found in the semi, according to the clerk. The Findlay-based Power Up Cafe is not involved in any way with the investigation or the fitness business in question located in Fostoria.A broadcast report said the case has been bound over to a federal grand jury and no plea had been entered Wednesday.
