Findlay man arrested after hostage situation

FINDLAY — Sonny Flugga, 22, of Findlay, was taken into custody following a reported trespassing that devolved into hostage negotiations. At 10:27 a.m. Thursday, Findlay police responded to 1322 Glenhaven Dr. for a report of trespassing. A release from Findlay police states officers attempted to make contact with a female resident at the door, who indicated to officers Flugga was blocking her exit from the residence and was threatening harm to her and officers if they attempted entry. "The incident was determined to be a hostage situation," the release reads. The Findlay Police Crisis Management Team was activated. Both patrol officers and crisis negotiators attempted to de-escalate the situation through the door. The victim and another person inside the residence were later able to exit the building from a ladder from the second floor balcony. At approximately 11:36 a.m., Flugga surrendered. No injuries were reported at the scene. Flugga was taken into custody and is being held on charges of domestic violence, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of unlawful restraint and obstruction of official business.
