Arcadia UM ARCADIA — Arcadia United Methodist Church will open the morning with Sunday school at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 10. There will be a noisy offering collected. The Rev. Gerry Hubbs will speak on "Out of the Ashes: Confession." The Wesley Class will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall for a pizza party. There will be an all-church potluck after morning worship on March 22. The church is located at 19397 County Road 216/Brown Road and is handicapped accessible. College First FINDLAY — "Unanswered Prayers" will be the sermon presented during the 9, 10 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at College First Church of God. The scripture reading is 2 Corthinthians 12:6-10. Encounter meets from 6-7:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Activities include worship, games, snacks, scripture memory and lessons. Contact Nicky or the church office with questions. Finally Friday will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 27 in the fellowship hall. The event is for youth in grades K-5. There will be games that let attendees demolish, design and construct. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will both start at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. On Easter, instead of the usual three services, there will be one large service starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. The service will be a combination of both traditional and contemporary worship. A new sermon series titled "The Greatest Music Ever Written" will also start. First Lutheran FINDLAY — All are welcome to worship as First Lutheran Church celebrates the fourth Sunday in Lent. Assisting pastor, the Rev. Christian Dittmar, will share the message from John 9:1-41. Worship services are at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. The Lutheran Bells will ring an arrangement of "What Wondrous Love" at the later service. Requests for the Blessing Basket Food Pantry at St. John's Lutheran Church this month are diced tomatoes, chicken broth, mushroom soup, peas, shampoo and body wash. 40 Days of Giving is continuing, and a list of needed items can be found in the monthly newsletter. These items can be placed on the cart by the elevator or dropped off at the pantry on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Rev. Tucker O'Leary continues to lead a 15-minute midday prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday in the chapel for members and the community. Holy Communion will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a short healing service will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays. A Feast of St. Patrick service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. The community is welcome. A midweek Lenten service led by Findlay/Arcadia Lutheran area churches will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arcadia at 7 p.m. Wednesday. First Presbyterian FINDLAY — First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., welcomes all to worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Lenten theme, "Tell Me Something Good," will continue as each Sunday the congregation explores the Good News of the Gospels. This week they will hear "The Good News is...Protection & Care for the Vulnerable." The Rev. Jessica Commeret will be preaching. Coffee hospitality is available beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor and continues after the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers begins at 9:45 a.m. All are welcome. The third Sunday Intergenerational Faith Formation will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner in the fellowship hall. At 6, attendees will divide into age-specific faith formation groups. Good Hope Lutheran, Arlington ARLINGTON — "The Story of the Man Born Blind" will be the title of the Rev. Steve Ramsey's sermon for this fourth Sunday in Lent at Good Hope Lutheran Church. Bible passages to be studied include 1 Samual 16:1-13, Psalm 23, Ephesians 5:8-14 and John 9:1-41. Good Hope offers three services each weekend, at 5 p.m. today and at 7:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Visitors are welcome. Organists this week will include Pam McCloud today and Madison Thomas on Sunday. At the 10 a.m. service Sunday, the senior bell choir will provide "Jesu, Deine Passion" for the anthem and "Lenten Nocturn" during the offering. At 9 a.m. Sunday, Bible study and Sunday school will be held for everyone interested in attending. Refreshments and fellowship are held prior to class time. A class is available for all ages. Children in grades 1-3 will study "God Calls Moses," Exodus 3; and grades 4-6 will study Part 2 with a review game. Confirmation classes will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. The bell choir and senior choir meet each Tuesday at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. New members are always appreciated. The sewing ladies will gather from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wednesday evening Lenten service begins at 5:30 p.m. with a meal served by the men of the congregation with food from Jac & Do's. The worship service begins at 7 p.m. with the pastor's message reflecting on Barabbas and what his story means today. On Thursday at 7 a.m., Good Hope will host a teen breakfast for any students in grades 7-12. A hot breakfast will be served followed by a brief devotional. Donations from the congregation are requested for the food pantry. Shampoo and toothpaste are needed this month. Immanuel Lutheran FINDLAY — Immanuel Lutheran Church is hosting "Easter for Kids" from 9:30 a.m. to noon on March 21. St. Andrew's UM FINDLAY — The Rev. Amy Miller will share her message, "The Stranger, the Child, and the Kingdom of God," on Sunday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The service begins at 9 a.m. and includes scripture, music, prayer, a children's message and a meaningful sermon. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome to participate. This Sunday, the Jubilation Choir will sing "Were You There." St. Andrew's will host this week's free community dinner on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. St. Marks UM FINDLAY — St. Marks United Methodist Church continues its mission of welcoming all people to experience faith, fellowship and hope through worship and meaningful programs in the community. This Sunday, the Rev. Dan Metzger will continue his sermons on The Upper Room with a sermon titled "The Vine & The Branches." The sermon will be based on John 15:1-17. A traditional worship service is held each Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday school and then a contemporary worship service at 10:45. Services are livestreamed for online viewing. The United Women in Faith are collecting vegetable seed packets to send to the Jackson Area Mission. This UMC mission helps feed hungry people in southern Ohio by teaching them to garden. St. Marks is also preparing for the Good Friday community breakfast on April 3. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. This year's guest speaker is Nichole Coleman with "One Man Awake: Courage, Discernment, and Light in Our Community." Tickets are $10 at the door. All are welcome to attend. The church offers GriefShare, a supportive program for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The program is open to anyone in the community who is seeking healing and support. The Rev. Deb Noll will speak on the topic, "Mud in Your Eye," at both services with Sunday school for all ages beginning at 11:15. Trinity Episcopal FINDLAY — A string trio will offer special music at the 10 a.m. "Refreshment Sunday" service at Trinity Episcopal Church. Stations of the Cross will be observed at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and March 27, and at noon on Good Friday. The reading of the Passion Gospel and the distribution of palms will be held at both services on Palm Sunday, March 29. The 10 a.m. service will begin in the parish hall and include a festal procession into the church. Holy Wednesday's Tenebrae service on April 1; Maundy Thursday's Mass of the Lord's Supper, Agapé meal and prayer watch on April 2; Good Friday's Solemn Liturgy on April 3; and the Great Vigil of Easter on April 4 will all begin at 6 p.m. Easter Day will begin with a spoken service of Holy Communion at 8:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist will be held at 10 a.m., followed by brunch and a children's Easter egg hunt. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Arcadia ARCADIA — Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18974 Ohio 12, welcomes all to the 9:30 a.m. service this weekend for the fourth Sunday in Lent. The Rev. West Independence FOSTORIA — A noisy offering will be collected for the Garage of Hope during Sunday's worship service at West Independence Church. The Garage of Hope is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its mission is to provide mattresses, bedding, furniture and other necessities for free to those in need. The Rev. Ben Wallick will deliver a sermon titled "Seven Seals," based on scripture from Revelation 7:13-8:1. Maegan Stauffer will share the Children's Moments. Following the 9 a.m. worship service, coffee fellowship will be held in the Family Life Center. Sunday school classes begin at 10:15 and offer a variety of topics for all ages from nursery through adult. Youth will meet at 5 p.m. in the Youth Loft.
