Novel Notions Back home from Wilson Vance School, With some novel notions, Ready to use them as my tool, Marking another week's culmination! I don't get enough of that place, With wonderful people and wide-open space, From Principal, behavior coach, to secretary, They make me feel valued and necessary. Ah, even the other day, With my peers not far away, One who manages the library, Makes me feel extraordinary! Curious and interested, at a stretch, Asking how I developed such zest For writing poems for the newspaper, Compared, me, to a well-known author! As I hark back to 2017, When I came from Denver, I never imagined, not even once, I was being prepared for this tenure! Neetu Kumari SinghFindlay I didn't believe I sneaked downstairs that Christmas eve I don't know why 'cause I didn't believe And there he stood all covered in soot in big black boots and a funny red suit All i could see was Santa's back He was taking something out of his sack and putting it underneath the Christmas tree It looked like a truck maybe it's for me A curly haired doll I knew was for sis 'cause i saw it on her Christmas list I didn't have a list because I didn't believe in Santa Clause But now i know it's not a lie 'cause i saw him with my own eyes.
