BVHS adds new doctor

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has welcomed Yameena Jawed, MD, MS, to both the Daniel J. and Maria H. Sak Sleep Wellness Center and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine of Northwest Ohio. Dr. Jawed is board-certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. She brings experience in diagnosing and managing complex respiratory, critical illness, and sleep-related disorders. Before joining BVHS, she practiced as an associate physician at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, California, in the division of pulmonology, critical care, and sleep medicine. "We are pleased to have Dr. Jawed join BVHS," Myron D. Lewis, MSW, MBA, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of BVHS, shared. "Her diverse experience and dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care make her an excellent addition to the Daniel J. and Maria H. Sak Sleep Wellness Center." Dr. Jawed received a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She then came to the United States, where she went to the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. There, she completed a graduate program in Translational Science and a postdoctoral research fellowship in vascular biology and medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at UTHealth's McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. Afterwards, she returned to Indiana University School of Medicine, where she undertook a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Most recently, she finished a sleep medicine fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. "I am proud to join BVHS, an organization dedicated to delivering expert care to the community," said Dr. Jawed. "Restful sleep and easy breathing are vital to your overall health and wellness.
