Findlay woman charged with murder

FINDLAY — Sierra L. Eady, 35, of Findlay, was taken into custody Tuesday with charges in connection to a November 2025 incident that left a woman dead. On Nov. 14, at approximately 2 p.m., Findlay Police officers responded to a report of an accidental discharge of a firearm at a residence located at 1640 Queenswood Dr., in Findlay. A release from police said officers found two women at the residence, Eady and Breanna Gonzales, 31, of Findlay. Gonzales was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She later died of her injuries. Eady was uninjured. During the 911 call submitted to The Courier in response to a public records request, Eady can be heard in hysterics, repeatedly telling the dispatcher to have officers and medics hurry. She can also clearly be heard saying the weapon "accidentally" fired and hit Gonzales. Court documents indicate the shooting may not have been accidental after all, saying Eady "recklessly" and "purposely" caused the death of Gonzales "while under the influence of sudden passion or in a sudden fit of rage." Criminal charges have now been filed against Eady for reckless homicide, voluntary manslaughter and murder. The incident has been ruled a homicide. She was taken into custody Tuesday by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office. She is currently in custody at the Hancock County Justice Center.
