Van Buren Local Schools presents 'The Little Mermaid'

Van Buren Local Schools presents the beloved Disney story about a mermaid who dreams of life beyond the sea, "The Little Mermaid", running March 19-22. From the school synopsis: Ariel, a curious mermaid fascinated by the human world, dreams of life beyond the sea. After rescuing the handsome Prince Eric, she makes a daring deal with the sea witch Ursula—trading her voice for the chance to become human. With only three days to win the prince's true love's kiss, Ariel must follow her heart while Ursula waits to claim the price of their bargain. Dive into this magical undersea adventure filled with unforgettable music, romance, and spectacle. The show was written by Doug Wright, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, music by Alan Menken, and is being produced in association with Music Theatre International. It is directed by Christina Csernyik and assistant directors Allison Beaupry and Michaela Carter. Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
