Storytimes and teen events this week at the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is offering the following programs starting Monday, March 23: At 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday in the Lindamood Room, Miss Nicole presents Storytime. Sing, rhyme, and read, then craft and enjoy activities together with a new theme each week. Your child will have so much fun they might not even realize they are learning important skills for future reading! This week's theme is crazy construction. This program's content is geared to preschool-aged children with a caregiver. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child/children for this program. On Tuesday at 2 p.m., those registered at libraryc.org/findlaylibrary will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual discussion between award-winning journalist Shoshana Walter and bestselling and award-winning author Barbara Kingsolver as they chat about Walter's book Rehab: An American Scandal. More information about the author and the book are available at findlaylibrary.org/events. This program is presented in partnership with the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. Do you have a favorite team, game, show, book, or band you can't stop talking about? Then you have to come to the Lindamood Room at 4 p.m. on Tuesday! Teen Night: Fandoms United is all about celebrating what you love—whether it's sports, gaming, anime, pop culture, music, or something totally unique. Come and share why you're a superfan, meet other teens who get it, and maybe even discover your next obsession. All fandoms are welcome. The more passionate, the better! Part 4 of our 6-week, no-cost Small Business Academy designed to guide entrepreneurs from idea to profitability takes place on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. This series is for adults, and covers essential topics including entrepreneurial readiness, business planning, launching and legally establishing your business, marketing and social media strategies, financial fundamentals, profitability analysis, and acquiring capital while managing risk. The event will be simulcast live to the library from The Borra Center for Health Sciences at Rhodes State College, and is presented by the Ohio Small Business Development Center. Registration required through Rhodes State College by calling 419-995-8032. Mini Meet-up takes place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday in the Early Literacy Center in the Children's Department. This is a free playtime opportunity for little ones to socialize and explore new games, toys, and activities that are educational and fun while meeting other families. This program is for infants to 36 months with their caregivers. Older siblings are welcome. Starter Storytime will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and Friday in the Lindamood Room. Miss Nicole will lead families in singing, rhyming, reading and having fun with scarves and instruments. This program is suggested for children up to 36 months of age with a caregiver. Older siblings are welcome, too. Storytime at Arlington takes place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arlington Branch of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. Children can enjoy some reading fun, songs, crafts, and socialization with other children. This week's theme is pizza party. CrafterWork is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. This month's program will be a little different. Attendees will be treated to a movie, 13 Going on 30, while taking part in this month's craft, reverse coloring. Grab a friend and join in for this fun night out! Children in grades 2 – 8 are invited to register for Drawing Club, taking place on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. This month make a watercolor art inspired by our 2026 YouthREAD book for grades 6-8, Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel, adapted and illustrated by K. Woodman-Maynard. This program is part of our 2026 CommunityREAD series, but you do not need to read the book to attend. Get ready for an afternoon of color, creativity, and fun at our Teen Paint Party at noon on Saturday, March 28 in the Lindamood Room. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, this is your chance to relax, hang out with friends, and create your own masterpiece. We'll provide all the supplies—you just bring your imagination!
