Crash leaves 4 dead outside Tiffin

TIFFIN — Four young adults died as a result of a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, on SR 18 near CR 48, just west of Tiffin. Preliminary investigation by the Norwalk post of State Highway Patrol revealed a Ford Focus, driven by Hermoiney Greenler, 19, of Bucyrus, was travelling eastbound on SR 18 where she failed to maintain control of the vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before the vehicle became partially submerged in a pond. Greenler and two passengers, Madison Yates, 21, and Jonathon Bowling, 22, both of Tiffin, succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene as a result of the crash. An additional passenger, Alexzandria Hickle, 22, also of Tiffin, was transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Hickle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the other three occupants were unbelted, the post said. OSHP was assisted on the scene by the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Bascom Joint Fire District, Ohio Department of Transportation, Seneca County Coroner's Office and Reinhart Auto Body.
