Arcadia UM ARCADIA — Arcadia United Methodist Church will kick off its Easter celebration with a sunrise service at 8 a.m., followed by a potluck breakfast. Morning worship will be at 10 a.m. with music by the choral ensemble. The Rev. Gerry Hubbs will present the sermon, "He is Risen," using scripture from Matthew. Open Communion will be observed. The United Women of Faith will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday for a program on the Women's Resource Center. On Thursday, the mission team will host a soup and sandwich supper. All proceeds support local missions. The church is handicapped accessible and located at 19397 County Road 216. College First FINDLAY — Instead of the typical three Sunday services at College First Church of God, one service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Easter at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. It will combine both traditional and contemporary worship. A new series titled "The Greatest Music Ever Written" will also start with the sermon "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." The service is free and open to the public. The next senior fun dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 14 in the fellowship hall. A main course of baked chicken will be served. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish, dessert or salad to share. Musical entertainment will follow. For more information, visit CollegeFirst.org First Lutheran FINDLAY — A music-filled worship service will be held on Sunday as First Lutheran Church celebrates the resurrection of our Lord. The Rev. Tucker O'Leary will share the message from Matthew 28:1-10. First Lutheran Brass and organist Miriam Gibson will begin worship with "The Easter Medley." The senior choir will sing "Glad Easter Praises," accompanied by the brass group, and the Sunday school children will sing "God Is Love" and "An Easter Litany." Worship services are at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m., and Holy Communion is offered at both services. The men will serve an Easter breakfast from 9:30-10:30. The church is hosting this week's community dinner which will be "Breakfast for Lunch" featuring pancakes, sausage links, scrambled eggs, muffins and fresh fruit. The meal will begin at 11:30 a.m. The church book club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church lounge to discuss "The Widow," by John Grisham. Good Hope Lutheran, Arlington ARLINGTON — Easter Sunday will be celebrated with two services at Good Hope Lutheran Church. All are welcome to attend the sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. or the festival service which begins at 10. Holy Communion will be offered at both services. From 7:30-9 a.m., the youth of the congregation will sponsor a buffet breakfast for anyone wanting to attend. The Rev. Steve Ramsey's message will be titled "Happy Easter" with lessons read from Acts 10:34-43, Psalm 118:1-24, Colossians 3:1-4 and Matthew 28:1-10. The 10 a.m. service will begin with Montgomery Moore playing the prelude titled "Trumpet Tune." His offertory selection at both services will be "Because He Lives." The senior choir, under the direction of Dan Basinger, will sing "Acclamation for Easter" at the later service. Sunday school and Bible study at 9 a.m. will be combined classes participating in joint activities. Classes will gather immediately following the Easter breakfast. Bell choir practice starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the senior choir at 7:30. The sewing ladies meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The food pantry will be available begining at 9 a.m. Thursday. Participants are asked to contact the church office prior to this date in order to schedule a pick-up time. Good Hope members are encouraged to donate cereal and canned soup for the pantry in April. Immanuel Lutheran FINDLAY — Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2300 Northridge Road, will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at 7 and 9:30 a.m. at Easter festival services. Redeemer Lutheran FINDLAY — A breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. on Easter Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, prior to the worship service. The Rev. Bill Geiger's sermon on Palm Sunday was the passion narrative as spoken by him and two other members. He said this narrative gives the same message as what is written in the Gospel, but three voices put more drama into the same material. Amy Miller will share her message, "Out of Darkness, Hope Rises," on Sunday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The service begins at 9 a.m. and includes scripture, music, prayer, a children's message and a meaningful sermon. The Jubilation Choir will sing "Empty Now," and the Praise Band will perform "His Heart Beats." The sermon will be available to watch online at saumcfindlay.org and on Facebook. It will also air live on WFIN Radio and WFIN.com . The church will host a Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 at Riverside Park, shelter 9. St. Marks UM FINDLAY — There will be two services on Easter Sunday at St. Marks United Methodist Church. The traditional service at 9 a.m. will feature a choir, pipe organ, piano and brass ensemble. Two favorite Easter hymns will be sung including "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and "Up From the Grave He Arose." The sanctuary will be decorated with a 10-foot-tall cross of Easter lilies which is a symbol of the hope brought to us by Jesus. There will be contemporary service at 10:45 with the praise band performing classic Christian music. For a preview of the Sunday sermon, the Rev. There will be no Sunday school. The resurrection of Our Lord will be celebrated with one Easter worship service at 10 a.m. Holy Communion will be served at this service. Confirmation class will not meet on Easter Sunday. Trinity Baptist FINDLAY — Trinity Baptist Church, 7839 County Road 236, will offer worship services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The choir will present special music, and senior pastor, the Rev. Ben Jennings, will offer a heart-warming Easter message. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Jenera JENERA — Easter Sunday will be celebrated at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., at two services. The Easter dawn service begins at 6:30 a.m. Vicar Kelvin Johannes from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Findlay will preach on 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, titled "First Importance." The choir anthem is Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus." Hymns include "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today," "Awake, My Heart, With Gladness," "Christ Jesus Lay in Death's Strong Bands," "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" and "He's Risen, He's Risen." A free Easter breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m. with an Easter festival service at 9:30. All are welcome to attend the service and breakfast. The church is handicapped accessible. Trinity Lutheran, Arcadia ARCADIA — Trinity Lutheran Church, 18974 Ohio 12, will celebrate Easter at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Larry Michaels officiating. Two youth will take first communion, and the church family will welcome five new members during the service. The children will collect the noisy offering for this quarter's mission which is Adopt-a-Family for Christmas. The children will also be ringing their hand bells during the service. The adult choir will sing "The Tomb Stands Open Wide." Following the service, brunch will be held followed by an Easter egg hunt. All are welcome. Trinity Lutheran FINDLAY — Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 W. Bigelow Ave., will celebrate Easter morning with one service at 9 a.m. Special music will feature the Trinity Ringers playing "O Worship the King" medley. The Trinity Singers will perform an arrangement of "We Will Glorify." Communion and the empty tomb will be celebrated. At 11 a.m. today, St. John's, First Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran churches will host an Easter egg hunt for the community at St. John's, 1701 Tiffin Ave. All are welcome. Trinity Lutheran is planning to host vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 13-17. "Christmas in July - A Journey to Bethlehem!" will be a shared program with St. John's Lutheran, First Lutheran and First Presbyterian churches, and Trinity Lutheran Preschool. Upper Room FINDLAY — "The Passover Lamb is Our Risen King" is the message that will be presented during the Resurrection Sunday worship service at the Upper Room Church of God, 520 W. Bigelow Ave. The service begins at 10:30 a.m. The children of the church will participate in the "Great Eggchange" in King's Kids Church. Life groups for all ages meet regularly at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, followed by a spirit-filled worship. West Independence FOSTORIA — The resurrection of Jesus will be commemorated with a SONrise service led by the youth at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday in the Family Life Center at West Independence Church. A light breakfast will follow. The worship service will be held at 9 a.m., and the Rev. Ben Wallick will deliver a message titled "Resurrection Joy," referencing Matthew 28:1-10. Children's Moments will be presented by Tina Moyer, and communion will be served. Nursery care is available during worship for infants through preschool-aged children. The service will be livestreamed via YouTube. After worship, attendees are invited to participate in a coffee fellowship in the Family Life Center. Sunday school classes begin at 10:15 a.m., offering a diverse range of topics suitable for all age groups from nursery to adult. Ohio 12, will hold a 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday worship service. The Rev. Gay Blau will speak on "It's Not the End of the Road," referenced in Luke 24:13-35.
