Tiny art painting with week at the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is offering the following programs the week of April 5-11, 2026: Sunday, April 5, the library will be closed for Easter. Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lindamood Room, Miss Nicole presents Storytime. Children can join us to sing, rhyme, read, and craft together. The theme for this week is our senses. This program is designed for preschool-aged children. The Small Business Development Center's Small Business Series wraps up on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room with the topic Acquiring Capital & Risk Management. This event will be simulcast live to the library from The Borra Center for Health Sciences at Rhodes State College. Registration is required through Rhodes State by calling 419-995-8032. This program is presented by the Ohio Small Business Development Center. Mini Meet-Up is scheduled for Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. in the Early Literacy Center in the Children's Department. Little ones can explore new games, toys and activities that are educational and fun while socializing and making new friends. Starter Storytime will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and Friday in the Lindamood Room. Miss Nicole will lead families in singing, rhyming, reading and having fun with scarves and bells. This program is designed to foster a love of reading while developing early literacy skills and is suggested for children up to 36 months of age with a caregiver. Older siblings are welcome, too. Storytime at Arlington is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at our Arlington Branch. Children can hear great stories, do crafts and fun activities. This week's theme is interesting insects. Adult Book Bingo is slated for 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon in the Lindamood Room. Prizes will be adult gently used items or advanced reader copies. Bring a friend or family member to have a good time and play bingo for book prizes. Join the library each month for our brief "Eat the Rainbow" Eat Well/Live Well monthly series, highlighting the various natural phytochemicals in fruits and vegetables, as well as discuss tasty ways to incorporate them into our diets. The first program in this series takes place on April 8 at 5 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. We will highlight fruits and vegetables which may lack vibrant color, but are full of flavor and rich in health benefits – White/Brown. Join our Sci-fi and Fantasy Book Club, Bows & Blasters, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Administration Office. This month, we'll be looking at Recursion by Black Crouch. Copies of the book are available in the Information Services Department. Bring your big imagination to paint on a tiny canvas! Create your very own mini masterpiece and show off your artistic skills—your artwork might even be featured at ArtWalk on Friday, May 1st! Join in on April 9 in the Lindamood Room and choose one of two fun sessions we're offering: Teens & Tweens can paint at 4:00 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m., we're hosting a Family Session (all ages welcome!)
