Arlington boys, Riverdale girls win team titles

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Arlington finished 1-2 in both hurdles events and the long jump on Tuesday when the Red Devils outpointed Riverdale 146-110 to win the boys title at the Riverdale Track Invitational.Trenton Heacock swept the hurdles for Arlington, winning the 110s in 16.31 and 300s in 43.91. Calvin Willow was second in 110s (17.31), with Forrest Yeater runner-up to Heacock in the 300s (44.96).Heacock (19-5) and Willow (18-5) also finished 1-2 in the long jump, with Willow also winning the high jump (6-3). Arlington's Logan Hartman added a first in discus (156-1¼), with Riverdale's Grant Inbody (155-2) and Leipsic's Nolyn Lammers (153 11¼) also putting in impressive throws.Leipsic (85) edged Liberty-Benton (84) by a point for third place in the boys meet. Ada was fifth (64) and Lima Perry sixth (33).A four event winner in the meet, Heacock also led off Arlington's 1,600 relay (3:46.45) that included Yeater, Trevor Anderson and Hunter Rausch.Ada won the 400 relay with Kayleb Hickman, Lucas Henson, Aidin Brown and Will Mosler posting a winning time of 48.03.Liberty-Benton's Adam Subramaniam, Cameron Wappelhorts, Brennan Bockrath and Evan Makowski took the 3,200 relay in 9:22.23Leipsic's Trevor Stuber swept the sprints, winning the 100 in 11.70 and the 200 in 24.28.Ada's Hickman won the 400 (54.33), while Riverdale's Gabe Donaldson was first in both the 800 (2:14.05) and the 1,600 (4:55.35). Leipsic's Calvin Miller won the 3,200 (11:30.32).Liberty-Benton also garnered two firsts in the field events, with Will Granger winning the shot (51-11¼) and Parker Martien the pole vault (10-6).Riverdale scored 183 points in finishing well out in front in the girls meet. Arlington was second (129) and Ada third (86), followed by Liberty-Benton (53), Leipsic (38) and Perry (17).Marissa Bonham led Riverdale's girls, winning the 400 (1:0.49), the high jump (5-1) and anchoring the first place 1,600 relay (4:30.60) that included Paige Vent, Summer Boutwell, and Emma Kemmere.Vent and Boutwell were also on the winning 3,200 relay (11:02.07) with Annalese Woodruff and Grace Driskill.Driskill also won the 800 (2:45.17), and Riverdale swept the hurdles with Emily O'Flaherty winning the 100s (18.79) and Sophie Weatherholz the 300s (55.02).Arlington's Alexis Grieser swept the 100 (13.00) and 200 (26.71) and anchored the first place 400 (54.11) and 800 (1:54.61) relay teams that included Paige Clevenger, Callie Hartman and Olivia Pepple. Allie Settlage won the 3,200 (14:26.04) for the Red Devils, and was second (6:29.42) to teammate Izzy Kretz (6:27.00) in the 1,600.Liberty-Benton's Claire St. Amour won the girls pole vault (8-6) and Evie Parmelee took the shot (30-7¾). Ada's Jordyn Smith was first in the long jump (14-4) and Leipsic's Sydney Apple, with a throw of 131-3½, won the discus.
