Museum to dedicate Liberty Tree in honor of America 250

FINDLAY — The Hancock Historical Museum, in partnership with the Sons of the American Revolution (John Hancock Chapter) and the Daughters of the American Revolution (Fort Findlay Chapter, NSDAR), will be planting and dedicating a Liberty Tree at Brucklacher Memorial Park, 8884 County Road 236, at 1 p.m. Sunday. The tree planting is part of a nationwide America 250 celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Speakers will include: Henry Stobbs, 1SG, USA (Ret.), president, John Hancock Chapter, OHSSAR; Abigail Inbody, executive director, Hancock Historical Museum; Tina Snyder, regent, Fort Findlay Chapter, NSDAR; David Lupien, president, OHSSAR; David Murphy, president of council, City of Findlay; and Tim Bechtol, Hancock County commissioner. The Liberty Tree dedication marks a significant moment for the local community, as it symbolizes the enduring spirit of liberty and freedom that has defined the United States since its founding. Following the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to explore the rich history and scenic beauty of Brucklacher Park. The museum's Little Red School House will also be open for tours, offering a glimpse into the educational practices of the past. In addition, the Findlay Shade Tree Commission will give away free trees to attendees, furthering the community's commitment to preserving and celebrating our natural and historical heritage and future.
