Sprang crushes two homers, Findlay rolls

URSULA 5TOLEDO – Addie Sprang smashed two home runs and Findlay High's softball team rebounded from Friday's loss to Toledo Whitmer by pounding Toledo St. Ursula 13-5 on Saturday.Sprang, a senior catcher, belted two-run runs in the first and sixth innings, numbers 3 and 4 this season and numbers 19 and 20 for her career.Addison Hartman had a pair of RBI singles and was 3-for-4 for the day. Delaney Harris had a two-run double that broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the fifth inning. Sprang's second two-run homer of the game keyed another FHS rally in the sixth.Brooke Bowers had three hits for St. Ursula (1-8), including a solo home run.Saturday's win upped Findlay's record to 8-2 heading into a key stretch of games. The Trojans host Oregon Clay (5-1) today and Perrysburg (4-3) on Wednesday, then head to Celina on Saturday for a doubleheader with the 8-2 Bulldogs. CORY-RAWSON 12ARLINGTON 11RAWSON – Complete high school softball games are seven innings long and Arlington and Cory-Rawson packed a ton of back-and-forth drama into every one of them on Saturday.Cory-Rawson won the game 12-11, but that was not decided until the very last inning.Cory-Rawson scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Arlington tied the game 4-4 with two-run rallies in the first and second.When Cory-Rawson scored four times in the bottom of the third, Arlington put up four in the fourth to knot things 8-8.Cory-Rawson scored three runs in the fifth and led 11-9 heading into the seventh. Arlington tied it once again, before Cory-Rawson won it with a single run in the bottom of the seventh.Hailie Hamilton earned the pitching win, giving up 11 runs on 11 hits. She walked seven batters, but also struck out 13. Hamilton got offensive support especially from Addison Inbody, who lined two singles, homered and drove in five runs in helping the Hornets win a second straight game and improve to 2-2 overall.Arlington's Delaney Glick had two singles and a double and Ellie Marquart had a single, two doubles and drove in three runs.
