Leatherman, L-B upend Ada, stay unbeaten in BVC

L-B 12 ADA 1 FINDLAY – Kooper Leatherman stifled Ada for five innings on the mound, and at the plate, doubled and drove in three runs in Liberty-Benton's 12-1 Blanchard Valley Conference win. The Eagles improved to 7-2, 4-0 in the BVC. L-B's offense got started right away, scoring seven runs in the first inning and coasting to victory. Reid Irwin went 3 for4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Mack Smith went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Leatherman allowed two hits, striking out nine. For Ada, Brody Rister and Colt Archer each singled. The Bulldogs dropped to 6-4, 2-3 in the BVC. BLUFFTON 13 DEL. JEFFERSON 4 BLUFFTON -- Bluffton's Dylan Painter and William Hoover drove in three runs each, and the Pirates downed Delphos Jefferson, 13-4. Hoover doubled, singled, and scored three times. Painter singled three times and scored twice. Jaegar Crawfis got the win, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out five and walking three in five innings. VAN BUREN 12 ALLEN EAST 11 VAN BUREN – Van Buren crashed three homers, scored in five of the six innings it hit, and outlasted Allen East in a non-conference game, 12-11. Caleb Mason homered, doubled and plated four runs for the Black Knights. He also went to the mound and finished the game with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Finn Martin homered, singled and drove in three runs, while Will Rampe hit one out, doubled, scored three times and drove in two runs. Allen East had only seven hits off Black Knights pitching, but was able to capitalize on four VB errors. Travis Stanley singled twice and drove in two runs for the Mustangs, who fell to 8-3. Luke Kern doubled, singled, scored four times and plated three runs. Nolan Cordes singled three times and drove in two runs for Continental.
