BOYS LACROSSE BERLIN 16FINDLAY 3OLENTANGY – Olentangy Berlin powered its way to a 16-3 boys lacrosse win over Findlay on Saturday. The Bears upped their record to 8-3 on the season.Will Hammer, Cam Wight and Henry Iten scored Findlay goals, with Hammer and Draven Wilson adding assists. Griffin Lane was 9-for-21 in face-offs for the Trojans, who are 7-3 overall and 5-0 in Northern Lakes League matches.Findlay will be looking to preserve that unbeaten NLL record during a key stretch of games over the next two weeks. It starts Tuesday at Sylvania Southview (3-3 NLL), and continues with a home matchup with Oregon Clay (1-4 NLL) on Thursday, and road games at Perrysburg (4-0 NLL) on April 28 and at Anthony Wayne (2-2 NLL) on April 30.Findlay's girls lacrosse team (5-5, 1-3 NLL), which fell 16-3 to league-leading Anthony Wayne on Friday, will be hosting the Sylvania schools in NLL games this week, with Northview in town today and Southview visiting on Wednesday. TRACK FROM FRIDAY GRAHAM – Findlay High's girls track team placed first or second in all four relays, generated 45 points in the field events and edged Tipp City Tippecanoe 134 to 118 on Friday to win its half of the Graham Invitational Track Meet.Findlay's boys team placed fourth in its portion of the 18-team meet.Josey Weihrauch, Mya Hammer, Katelynn Carpenter and Olivia Gayhart ran to a first-place time of 1:46.87 in the 800 relay and finished second in the 400 relay (50.16). Weihrauch and Hammer also teamed with Anika Helms and Lainie Clevenger on the second place 1,600 relay (4:15.05).In the first event of the meet, Abanna Dotson, Gabby Brankamp, Megan Guthrie and Kayla Moyer raced their way a victory in the 3,200 relay (10:29,.68). Dotson also won the 800-meter run (2:29.47).Doubling up earned Findlay valuable second-level points. Gayhart placed third (27.01) and Weihrauch fourth (27.03) in the 200, Brankamp was third (5:50.14) and Moyer sixth (6:03.34) in the 1,600, Hammer was fourth (1:02.76) and Anika Helms sixth (1:05.21) in the 400, and Gayhart was second (5-2) and Addison Lobb fourth (4-10) in the high jump.Lexie Steffen, a state qualifier last spring in the pole vault, won that event with a vault of 11-6. She also placed fourth in both the 100 (17.24) and 300 (51.15) hurdles.Findlay scored points in all five field events. In addition to the pole vault and high jump, Aviana Howell, a freshman, won the shot with a throw of 31-10, Carpenter was fourth in the long jump (15-1¾), and Harper Derr was fifth (86-6) and Olivia Owens sixth (84-2) in the discus.Findlay's boys won two relay events and placed second in another.Carter Imke, Jediah Scott and Greyson Geiser teamed with Soni Hines for a winning time of 43.29 in the 400 relay, and placed second in the 800 relay (1:32.31) with Maysen Hetrick rounding out that foursome.Tyler Strabley, Camden Stechschulte, Russell Stine and Lucas Parnell added another relay title in the 3,200 (8:25.54). Findlay also placed fourth (3:35.63) in the 1,600 relay.Imke doubled up in the sprints, placing fourth in the 100 (11.25) and sixth in the 200 (23.14). Charlie Ernst was sixth in both the 100 (17.23) and 300 (43.25) hurdles.Strabley also placed third in the 800 (2:01.20), Stine was third in the 1,600 (4:31.93) and Hetrick was third in the long jump (19-3½). Parnell was fifth in the 3,200 (10:19.19) and Jadyn Marquis was fifth in the discus (122-5). TRACY BROWN INVITECOLUMBUS GROVE – Columbus Grove defended its home turf by winning both halves of the Tracy Brown Invitational held at Grove's Clymer Stadium on Friday.Grove dominated the girls meet, scoring 185.5 points. Riverdale (63) edged Arlington (60.5) for third behind Anna (95). Ada was tenth (20.75), Arcadia 12th (12) and McComb 13th (10).Columbus Grove (132) and Arlington (85.83) finished 1-2 in the boys standings. McComb (50.33), Riverdale (43) and Ada (42) placed sixth, seventh and eighth, with Arcadia (2) 12th.Trevon Baxter was a four-event winner for Grove's boys, winning the 100-meter dash (11.22) over teammate Jarrod Holland (11.39), capturing the 200 (22.41) and the long jump (22-9½) and anchoring the winning 400 relay (44.39). Grove's Caiden Squillante won the 1,600 (4:31.99) ahead of Riverdale's Gabe Donaldson (4:49.82).In a battle for the boys high jump title, Grove's Holland edged Arlington's Calvin Willow for first place. Both cleared 6-8, but Holland had fewer misses.Ada's Kaleb Hickman won the 400 (50.76), was second in the 200 (22.85) and third in the 100 (11.69).Arlington swept two of the four relays, with Lucas McIlroy and Hunter Rausch teaming with Braylon Rucker and Aiden Yeater on the 800 team (1:32.31) and joining Eli Hurt and Trevor Anderson on the top 1,600 group (3:30.82).McComb's Carter Frater won the 110 hurdles (15.18) and was second in the long jump (21-7¼).Riverdale's Grant Inbody threw the discus 154-1, but Lincolnview's Jackson Werling outdid every other thrower with a mammoth throw of 180-4.Arlington's Alexis Grieser and Riverdale's Marissa Bonham had impressive results in the girls meet.Grieser, a junior, won the 100 (12.70) and 200 (25.43) and anchored the winning 400 relay (51.67) that included Paige Clevenger, Callie Hartman and Olivia Pepple.Bonham won the high jump (5-4) and 400 (58.69) and was second to Grieser in the 200 (26.27).Grove dominated the team standings by doubling up in several events.Liv Mayberry was first (2:25.78) and Devanie Pingle second (2:30.67) in the 800 and Bree Closson was first (15.28) and Brynn Calvelage second (16.90) in the 100 hurdles.Sarah Kamphaus won the 3,200 (12:08.47), Kendal Palte the 300 hurdles (45.53) and Nicole Nesby the shot (39-2). Grove also swept the 800 (1:48.74), 1,600 (4:02.25) and 3,200 (9:5.89) relays.McComb's Makenah Hepperly was second in the high jump (5-2) and Arcadia's Shia Watkins placed third in the discus (129-0).
