Councilman indicted again

BOWLING GREEN — Carey Village Councilman Evaristo Hernandez has been indicted for a third time in Wood County, now facing a total of 19 rape charges across three cases. Two cases filed in October added six counts, three of which allege the victim was a minor. The remaining three charges do not specify the victim's age but cite incidents occurring between March and May 2004. A third case filed late last week adds more charges tied to incidents alleged between March 2004 and June 2005. Court records list two victims, known only by their initials, and indicate both were under the age of 13 at the time. Some of the alleged offenses occurred in Wyandot County. Hernandez was also implicated in a civil case, filed in a Wyandot County Probate Court, accusing him of misfeasance and malfeasance, stemming from incidents of micromanagement of village staff and overreach of his legislative duties. Judge Doug Rowland dismissed those charges last month.
