Free seed and a sleepover this week at the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is offering the following programs starting Monday, April 27: Exciting news for gardeners and green thumbs! Starting Monday, stop by the library and pick up free seeds to kickstart your garden. You'll find our seed cabinet—stocked with hundreds of varieties—conveniently located near the entrance to the Information Services Department. Patrons may choose up to 10 seed packets per day, and the seeds will be available through September 22. Whether you're planting veggies, herbs, or flowers, there's something for everyone. On Tuesday, April 28, join us for a Stuffie Sleepover Storytime! Put on your favorite jammies and pick out a stuffie you won't mind leaving at the library for the night. Come to the library with your special friend, and enjoy stories, songs and rhymes, crafts, and activities. Your stuffie is then invited to stay for an extra special sleepover (one stuffie per child) where they will be treated to behind-the-scenes library fun! Pick up your stuffie and a photo album detailing their merry-making, at the Children's Desk the next day (April 29th) any time after 2:00 PM. We can't wait to see what adventures your stuffie will have while spending the night at the library! Registration is required for each child leaving a stuffie for the stuffie sleepover. Register at findlaylibrary.org/events by clicking on the event on the 28th for the form. Registration will close on April 27th at 12:00 PM. Get ready for a great time! Teens in grades 6–12 are invited to join us Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Lindamood Room for an epic Teen Game Night. Expect tons of fun, plenty of laughs, and some friendly competition. If you're not into games, just come and hang out, relax with friends, and work on your own craft project. Whether you're there to play or just chill, there's something for everyone. Bring your friends and don't miss out—we can't wait to see you there! Mini Meet-up takes place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday in the Early Literacy Center in the Children's Department. This is a free playtime opportunity for little ones to socialize and explore new games, toys, and activities that are educational and fun while meeting other families. This program is for infants to 36 months with their caregivers. Older siblings are welcome. Join us for a fun and creative crafting session on the last Wednesday of each month at CrafterWork. This program is open to adults and teens ages 16 and up, making it a great opportunity to relax, socialize, and try something new. This month, we'll be making seed paper—a unique, eco-friendly craft that you can plant and watch grow! All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed. Space is limited to 15 participants, so be sure to arrive early—spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. On Thursday at 7 p.m., those registered at libraryc.org/findlaylibrary will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual discussion with bestselling author Jason Reynolds as he discusses his latest work, Coach, the fifth and last entry in the highly popular Track series. Join us at the library on Friday during Findlay's Spring ArtWalk for an inspiring evening celebrating local creativity at the Student Art Show! From 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., explore a stunning collection of artwork created by talented Hancock County students—there's something for everyone to admire. Bring your friends, support young artists, and enjoy a vibrant night of art and community! The Friends of the Library will also be holding a special book sale in the lower level of the library.
