O-G duo combines to no-hit L-B

O-G 3 L-B 0 FINDLAY – Ottawa Glandorf pitchers Ethan Kuhlman and Will Siefker combined to no-hit Liberty-Benton Thursday, and the Titans shut out the Eagles, 3-0. Kuhlman started for O-G and pitched the first five innings, striking out four and walking two. Siefker came on in relief and picked up the save with two hitless innings, fanning three and walking one. The Titans pushed across single runs in the second, fourth and sixth innings. Leadoff hitter Carson Yeager doubled twice and scored a run, while Dawson Miller doubled and had two RBIs. McCOMB 19 C-RAWSON 8 RAWSON – McComb baserunners crossed the plate in every inning – the Panthers scored eight runs in the sixth –and toppled Cory-Rawson in a non-conference game, 19-8. Grady Schroeder doubled twice, singled and drove in four runs for the Panthers, who banged out 17 hits in the win. Cameron Smith tripled and plated four runs for McComb, while winning pitcher Kahle Drown singled, drove in a run and scored three times. CAREY 11 ARLINGTON 1 CAREY – Carey continued its impressive week of baseball Thursday with an 11-1 win over visiting Arlington.The Blue Devils (16-2) had a good game at the plate with seven hits and drawing 12 walks.Landon Tarris singled twice and drove in a run, while Carter Bame and Tyler Rossel both singled and drove in two runs, David Hall doubled and drove in a run and Dash Puckett drove in a run.Tarris was the winning pitcher, allowing one single hit in four innings as he fanned seven and walked four. Bame and Rossel closed it out.The Blue Devils have won 10 straight games. H-LOUDON 6 NEW RIEGEL 0 BASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon plated two runs in the first inning, which turned out to be enough to win over rival New Riegel Thursday as Austin Smith was dominant on the bump. Smith twirled a two-hit shutout with 10 punchouts as the Chieftains won 6-0 in SBC River action.Braylon Ramirez lined a pair of singles for H-L (12-4, 6-1 SBC River), while Reiyc Hoover added a single and two RBIs, Kellen Frankart singled and drove in a run and both Brody Brickman and Smith drove in a run.Alec Hohman suffered the loss, giving up two runs on a hit in two innings. He struck out three. Leatherman hits for cycle VANLUE – In Wednesday's 14-2 win at Vanlue, Pandora-Gilboa's Nolan Leatherman hit for the cycle, and had all the bases covered. He also played shortstop, all three outfield positions, and pitcher and catcher. Leatherman played all nine defensive positions during the Rockets win, starting the game at shortstop and finishing the game on the mound. P-G, which was defeated by Continental, 9-4 Thursday, is 3-10, 2-5 in the Blanchard Valley Conference this season.
