WAYNE 10FINDLAY 7FINDLAY – Anthony Wayne rallied to tie the match by the half, then carried that momentum into the third and fourth periods in overtaking Findlay 10-7 on Monday in a Northern Lake League girls lacrosse match at Elmer Graham Stadium.Noah Tesner, Mihaya Saito and Ava Cooper all scored two goals for Findlay, which forged a 5-3 lead in the second period. Anthony Wayne (7-6) scored the last two goals of the half, though, then outscored the Trojans 5-2 in the final two periods.Greta Zaciewski also scored a goal for Findlay. The Trojans, 8-8, wrap up the 2026 regular season Wednesday at Sylvania Northview, then will prepare for the OHSAA Division I tournament. BASEBALL AN. WAYNE 6FINDLAY 1WHITEHOUSE – Anthony Wayne jumped ahead 5-0 in the first three innings and rode and outstanding pitching effort by Jackson Urenovitch to a 6-1 win over Findlay on Monday in a Northern Lakes League Buckeye Division game.Anthony Wayne, ranked No. 8 among Ohio's Division II programs, upped its overall record to 12-5 and is 4-1 in NLL Buckeye Division games. Findlay, looking to gain a share of first place with a win, is 12-7, 3-2 in the Buckeye Division.Eli Donawa and Lukas Potkanowicz had an RBI single each and both scored twice for Anthony Wayne. Sean Kolling also had an RBI single for the Generals, who scored two runs in the first inning and added three more in the third.That early lead was enough for Urenovitch. The senior right-hander, headed to Bowling Green State University on a baseball scholarship, gave up just one hit and faced only 25 batters in a complete game win. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.Findlay's lone hit was a sixth-inning single by lead-off hitter Jackson Flechtner, who would come around to score the Trojans lone run.Findlay's Reece Stillings also pitched well. SOFTBALL FINDLAY 8SPRINGFIELD 2HOLLAND – Ryan Boes homered in the first inning, Monika Kerwin went deep in the second, and Avalon Sprang hit one out in the third as Findlay High's softball team used an early long-ball barrage as a springboard to an 8-2 win over Springfield in Monday's Northern Lakes League cross-over game.Boes third homer of the season quickly put Findlay up 2-0, Kerwin's fifth of year made it 4-1 in the second and Sprang's blast made it 6-1 after three. Findlay has hit 11 dingers in the last six games and has 21 on the season.Kerwin and Sprang added a single to their home runs. Addie Sprang had two doubles and Davinee Harris lined a pair of singles.Senior right-hander Natalie Steffes earned the pitching win, allowing two runs on seven base hits. Springfield (9-10) scored one run in the first, but Steffes pitched shutout ball for five innings before the Blue Devils scratched out a second run in the bottom of the seventh.Findlay improved to 15-4 in what could be a record-setting year for the program. Tennis FINDLAY – Findlay High's No. 1 singles player Owen Vick was seeded No. 3 for the Division I OHSAA boys tennis tournament that will held at the FHS Courts beginning May 14.Vick has a first round bye and will face No. 2-seeded Micah Young of Springfield in a quarterfinal match.Findlay will also have three doubles teams competing in the tournament, Jake Best and Tyler Asel, Noah Klink and Grant Basinger, and Ashton Barger and Aidan Buddelmeyer.Findlay kicks off the tournament season today when the Trojans take part in the Northern Lakes League championships being held at Sylvania Northview.
