Wings Over Fostoria event landing in June

FOSTORIA — While Fostoria is well known for its trains, it is worth noting that the town also has planes. Get ready for takeoff to an upcoming event celebrating the grand opening of the new terminal at the Donald P. Miller Fostoria Metropolitan Airport. Individuals and aviation enthusiasts will enjoy a day at the airport with the airshow event "Wings Over Fostoria," taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13. This event is presented by Angle of Attack, and marks a milestone for the airport as it opens its upgraded facility to the public while showcasing aviation in the region. The day's festivities will feature airshow performances at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., along with a variety of family-friendly attractions. Guests can enjoy aircraft displays, take tours of the newly completed terminal building and visit several local food trucks. Additionally, Intrepid Helicopters will be on-site offering paid helicopter rides throughout the event. Admission and parking for the airshow are free. "We believe the event provides a great opportunity to invite the general public out to the facility that they may not otherwise have a reason to come visit. We see this as a new era for the airport with the opening of our new terminal facility, an investment made for the long-term viability of the airport. There has not been a public airport event in some time, so we look forward to gauging this year's attendance for consideration in future events," said airport manager Matt McVicker. Donald P.
