Hall, Carey celebrate N10 title

CRAWFORD 0CAREY – Saturday was a perfect day for baseball.And perfect is just the way Carey and pitching ace Garrett Hall stayed.Hall, a sophomore left-hander, allowed just four hits, zero runs, and struck out three in shutting out Colonel Crawford and upping his record to a perfect 10-0.The win also kept Carey, 19-2 overall, perfect in Northern 10 Conference play at 12-0 and clinched for the Blue Devils the outright 2026 N10 championship. With two league games remaining, Carey owns at least a three-game edge on every other school in the conference.Colonel Crawford (11-7, 8-4 N10) got excellent pitching as well, with Van Wintersteller walking just one batter and striking out seven. A senior right-hander, Wintersteller gave up just three hits. One of those hits, though, was a fourth-inning single by Tyler Rossell that drove in Louis Watkins, who had doubled, and Carter Bame with the only two runs of the game.Col. ARLINGTON 6C-RAWSON 5RAWSON – Arlington hasn't won many baseball games this spring.When the Red Devils do get a win, though, they have a knack for the dramatic.Cooper Hawkins RBI single in the top of the ninth inning drove in the go-ahead run and Louis Jones pitched two scoreless innings relief as Arlington edged Cory-Rawson 6-5 in Saturday's nonleague matchup.Arlington's fourth win was much like the earlier thrillers when the Red Devils rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Arcadia 5-4, and used a six-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to get past Hardin Northern 10-9.Hunter George, who scored the go-ahead run in the ninth, and Zander Collins had a single and a double each for Arlington (4-15). Deuce Davis and Collin Haley also had two hits, and Nicholas Clark and Chayse Simon joined Hawkins with RBI singles.Collins went the first seven innings and Jones finished up. Brennan Dempsey and Cameron Shimp added two hits each.Drew Meggitt hit a solo home run and Cooper Clark had an RBI single to account for North Baltimore's (8-10) two runs.N.
