Gilroy named new econ development director

FINDLAY — Matt Gilroy has been named new executive director of Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development. Gilroy has been with FHCED since March 2025, when he was brought on as director of strategic initiatives. Before working with Findlay Economic Development, Gilroy served as Fulton County Economic Development director for 10 years, and has more than 20 years of experience leading nonprofits in economic development, healthcare and higher education. He is currently a board member of the Northwest Ohio Development Assistance Corporation, a group that administers the SBA 504 loan program throughout Northwest Ohio. Gilroy has also been president of the board for Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development and has served on various committees for the Ohio Economic Development Association. A release from FHCED states since Gilroy joined the team in Findlay, he has initiated and developed a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy and has helped Hancock County gain a Life Science Ready Community designation. Previous director Chris Keller served in the position since December 2024 before leaving in April to pursue an opportunity in the private sector, the release states. Keller began with the agency as a project specialist in February 2024.
