Findlay girls fourth, boys seventh at NLL

NLL MeetNAPOLEON – Perrysburg (116.5) edged Fremont Ross (113) for the boys title and was a close second (113) to Ross (125.5) in the girls standings when the Northern Lakes League track meet was held Friday in Napoleon.Findlay High was seventh overall in the boys scoring and fourth among the girls teams. The Trojans were third among NLL Buckeye Division schools in both portions of the meet.Findlay doubled up in the girls pole vault with Lexie Steffen placing second and Neeti Barot third. Both cleared 11-0.The Trojans placed in two other field events, with Madison Mady Wheeler finishing seventh in the discus (110-1) and Katelynn Carpenter eighth in the long jump (15-3).On the track, Natalie Gutman was NLL runner-up in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.44.Steffen placed fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.77) and sixth in the 300s (51.62), Josey Weihrauch was fifth in the 400 (59.84) and Gabby Brankamp was sixth in the 3,200 (12:15.62).Weihrauch also teamed with Mya Hammer and Olivia Gayhart to place third in the 800 relay (1:45.16) with Baylee LeMaster, third in the 1,600 relay with Anika Helms (4:07.62) and fourth in the 400 relay (49.52) with Carpenter.Findlay got second place finishes from Soni Hines and Russell Stine in the boys meet. Hines was second (11.37) and Carter Imke fifth (11.55) in the 100, while Stine placed second in the 3,200 (9:37.80).Imke also led off the second-place 400 relay (42.28) that included Hines, Dominic Smith and Greyson Geiser, and the third-place 800 relay (1:30.85) that included Geiser, Smith and Jediah Scott.Jack Zoll, Tyler Strabley, Geiser and Maysen Hetrick placed seventh in the 1,600 relay (3:33.08). Strabley was seventh in the 1,600 (4:34.15) and Geiser was eighth in the 200 (24.09). N10 Meet CAREY – Upper Sandusky's depth and ability to score points in bunches paid off for the Rams on Friday when they outscored Colonel Crawford 168-153.5 for the girls team title in the Northern 10 Conference meet held at Carey.Upper's dominance of the sprints typified its scoring, with Jillian Stansbery, Jayden Richards and Arielle O'Flaherty combining for 36 points in just two events. Stansbery was first (13.13) and Richards second (13.45) in the 100-meter dash, and O'Flaherty placed first (27.25) and Stansbery second (27.73) in the 200.Stansbery also anchored the winning 800 relay team (1:48.08) that included Richards, O'Flaherty and Adriane Yeater. O'Flaherty won the 400 (59.70), Lia Wilkinson was second in the 100 hurdles (17.31), Jocelyn Leightey was third in the 800 (2:29.23) and Madison Miles was third in the 1,600 (12:51.30).O'Flaherty, Yeater, Leightey and Kimberly Thomas finished second (4:14.17) in the 1,600 relay.Upper also scored well in the field events, with Shiloh Shasteen second (9-0) and Abigail Ault third (8-6) in the pole vault, and Adalee Wagner (98-6) and Melanie Bowen (97-0) third and fourth in the discus.Carey's Elysa Holsinger swept the girls hurdles, winning the 100s in 17.09 and the 300s in 46.83. Ema Ritter won the 800 (2:24.73) and Scarlett Prater was second in the discus (99-7).Holsinger and Ritter also teamed with Addison Baldrige and Bella Phoenix on the winning 1,600 relay (4:10.51).Carey placed fourth in the boys standings behind an outstanding meet from Tripp Phoenix. The junior speedster won the 100-meter dash in 11.08 seconds, then joined Lucas Smith-Howard and Dalen Walter on two winning relays, the 400 (44.04) with Mace Puckett, and the 800 (1:32.64) with Lincoln Ritter. Phoenix completed a four-event sweep by winning the high jump (6-4).Carey's Landyn Miller posted a winning time of 1:58.69 to edge Upper Sandusky's Franklin Arnold (1:59.28) in the 800. Arnold had earlier teamed with Andrew Leightey, Henry Minehart and Christian Miller on the N-10 winning 3,200 relay (8:32.55).Upper's Ashton Clark soared 14-6 to win a league title in the pole vault. The Rams got a runner-up placing from Carter Pohlman in the 1,600 (4:37.41), and a third from its 1,600 relay of Arnold, Clark, Brant Richards and Eli Smith (3;37.26). NWCC WAYNESFIELD – North Baltimore's Ady Reynolds went the distance, and then some, at the Northwest Central Conference track meet in Waynesfield on Friday.Reynolds swept all of the distance events, winning the 800 (2:27.95) and teaming with Maddie Stufft for a 1-2 finish in both the 1,600 (5:54.41; 5:56.98) and 3,200 (12:41.86; 13:08.37).For good measure, Reynolds and Stufft teamed up with Meghan Helbling and Hannah Hagemyer to win the 3,200 relay (10:32.86).North Baltimore's Attlee Rowlin added a win in the long jump (16-¼) and was second in the high jump (4-10) for the Tigers, who were second in the team standings. Cory-Rawson, which got a first from the 1,600 relay of Katelyn Duffman, Ayla Fought, Cara Garvin and Addison Inbody (4:30.67) and a second from Fought in the 800 (2:41.47), was fifth and Hardin Northern ninth.Hardin Northern was third, Cory-Rawson fifth and North Baltimore sixth in the NWCC boys meet.Riley Newton led Hardin Northern, winning the 400 (49.87) and placing second in the 100 (11.39) and 200 (23.01).Cory-Rawson's Nathaniel Gregorowicz was second in the 300 hurdles (41.47) and third in the 110s (16.68).North Baltimore's Rhys Williams cleared 6-2 to win the high jump.
